2312

It’s as good as any sci-fi I’ve ever read. It’s also one of the best books I’ve ever read. Period. I’ve read 3 other books he’s written and they’re all great but 2312 was simply staggering.

Ok thanks, I'll give it a go. ;)

Getting back to a Chiang what was your favorite story in that book?

I really enjoyed “ The Lifecycle of Software Objects”

Picked up my roommates' hardcover edition of the collected Nathaniel Hawthorne and started reading The Scarlet Letter again from a most random, but key, part of the novel. Continuing from there. Forgot how much I was taken with it in grade school. Or was Junior High? What is it about New England and martyrdom? Passages in this book struck me as contemporary as Albee.

Sure me too, but my goodreads history tells me I gave "What's expected of us" a 5/5 and "The truth of fact, the truth of feeling" 4.5/5, so I'd rank those higher. A very strong collection overall.

It's been a while since I've read it but I loved the scarlet letter so much. What a grand, compassionate book

What did you rank “Anxiety”?

And what are some of you all time sci-fi faves like three novels that come to mind.

I gave it a 4.5/5 so up there with the other two.

Let's say, Rendezvous with Rama, Ubik, a bunch of Le Guin, Hyperion. Etc.
