Hawkeye. If you don't know if you can deal with mainstream superhero comics, but you still think the Avengers movies are cool, then Hawkeye is pretty much perfect. An Avenger not really doing Avengery things with a tongue-in-cheek, down-to-earth storyline and some of the most likeable characters you'll ever find. It's hilarious, it's touching, it's ridiculous, it's real, and the art is phenomenal. And Kate Bishop is like the best thing ever. This was possibly the single comic that dragged me into being a more serious comic fan, and it's still one of the best series I've ever read.
