A brilliant animated fantasy written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, who also wrote and directed Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle. As with any of his films this is rich in meaning, detail and is visually spectacular. The story is quite complex and can be difficult to grasp at times but does a great job of addressing the relationship between humans and mother nature.

Glad i read your review on Contagion. Was seriously contemplating seeing it this weekend. Now it will be a blu ray rental at some point.

The pawn shop scene is when the movie goes into a higher gear (see what I did there?!) and stays there. BRUTAL violence and really great lighting and cinematography. Pretty good acting all around. If I would compare it to anything, it would be the pacing of Breaking Bad, the look of Enter the Void and the atmosphere of There Will Be Blood.

8.5/10
Turns out you were wrong. This movie sucked.

This is a great little movie. Horror and kooky rarely go hand in hand but this managed it easily.

It's a cliche to herald this movie but it really is a stunning film. A masterpiece.

Since when do people around here have a right to their own opinion? This place has gone to the dumps I tell you...

They are claiming here its uncut :

The Devils (DVD) (1971) (NTSC) (US Import): Amazon.co.uk: Oliver Reed, Vanessa Redgrave, Dudley Sutton, Max Adrian, Gemma Jones, Aldous Huxley, John Whiting, Ken Russell, Michael Gothard, Brian Murphy, Georgina Hale: Film & TV

Not cheap though. I remember seeing it in the cinema and wondering what all the fuss was about, Im pretty sure some cinemas showing it had protesters outside - must be something to do with the nun rape scene ??

Exit Through the Gift Shop

I liked it, up until it focused more on Mr. Brainwash.

I finally watched Suspiria and some of the suspense music that ended up being a mixture of noise and chanting was really grating on my nerves like nails on a chalk board.

When I got to the ending, I just shut off my tv in disappointment. The ending just didn't make sense to me.
