I just saw this movie last night on a recommendation.

It just went up there in favorites. It stars Guy Pearce, who, sure has been in a few mediocre movies, but on the whole I'd call a fairly talented actor, as an insurance investigator with short term memory loss. He's trying to solve his wife's murder, but every couple of hours he forgets everything that's happened to him since the accident that caused his memory condition. He has a very interesting system of reminding himself once this happens. And the movie is set up so that it starts at the end and works backwards in a series of clips, so you have to figure out the movie in that same sort of fragmented way that he has to figure out his life. It's just so goddamn good. I don't know why it didn't get more acclaim when it was released. Reminded me of the Usual Suspects in that everything is completely unpredictable.

It didn't get enough acclaim? Hasn't everyone seen Memento?

I found Memento to be a bit of an average film honestly. The sequencing idea was cool but that's about all I could bank on.

It was a bit corny, and the plot had a few holes, but I liked it. I thought Eric Bana was fantastic, considering over here he's mostly known for his crummy comedic sketches. Has anyone read the book?

she went on the Daily Show to promote the movie and it was hilarious. She was trying to explain the plot and Stewart was picking her and the plot apart.

I have and I absolutely loved it, which is why I'm so apprehensive about seeing the film, my unreserved love for Bana notwithstanding.

OT:

Long story short, an absolute masterpiece and probably the best period drama ever filmed. Gorgeous to look at. Keep me glued to the screen for 3 hours which is no small feat.

I really loved this movie. Great watch, but a tad on the short side

I don't care how many times I see this film, I still think it's brilliant. Is it just me or is Mrs Incredible hot?

Thought the daughter was much hotter.

Just saw 9. It was pretty enjoyable. My only problem with it was the plot progression, it seemed like "SPOILER ALERT" that the movie turned into nothing but fight after fight.

she is, mostly because she has Holly Hunter's voice methinks
It's easily my favourite Pixar film, the other ones have their downsides for me.
