Since you liked Psycho very much I'd like to recommend you another masterpiece from the same year, but not from Hitchcock: Michael Powell's Peeping Tom (that is if you haven't already seen it). It is generally regarded that these two films have had a great influence on a 'serial killer genre'. But, regardless of that, they're ****ing great films that transcend genres.

i watched Peeping Tom a few weeks ago....and have to say it's still just creepy fucked up movie....even by todays gruesome standards....forever a classic

I have yet to see Strangers on a train recommended and that's a very good one imo.

That one and 'I Confess' I need to see. Maybe I've seen 'Strangers on a Train' at some point, but I don't remember anything, so it's definitely on 'to watch list'.

Definitely not for the squeamish. There's a level of casual brutality in this movie that reminds me of very few other films (though Old Boy comes to mind). I thought it was pretty good though I was hoping for a little more social satire given the premise. Plenty of memorable moments though.

Been on Godard binge lately.

and

Vivre Sa Vie is definitely one of the more conventional Godard films I've seen, although very good nontheless. At this point I'd have to say Breathless is by far my favorite, followed by Pierrot Le Fou and the Vivre Sa Vie. All excellent movies though. If you're depressed there's a very good chance you would connect with these movies, in fact I think there's a good chance they would help you out of it.

I love the ending for that...I didn't really see that one coming.

Had never seen this until tonight. Gotta say as a father its pretty intense. Denzel does a great job as always of bringing your feelings into the film. 9/10
