Pretty good really. There were a couple parts that could've been less...for lack of a better word stupid, but altogether i liked it. Is it just me or does Owen Wilson always seem to get really weird roles?

Probably the gayest movie I've ever seen. It has the douchiest characters you will ever see in a movie. Ok, I'm exagerating a bit, but still, **** movie. I'll give it 2/10, one point for each of Kat Dennings tits.

it wasn't the first time I watched it but I watched it with some friends to get ready for Dead Space 2 (its just how we prepare for horror games)

Appearantly, when they started shooting it, Raimi was only 19 years old. As a film, it's good - certainly a classic of the genre .. but when you think about how it's basically an independent movie made by kids, it becomes very impressive I think.

Not only is it an independent movie made by kids but they went out and raised the money to make it from the community. They shot a short teaser for the movie on their own and then went around showing it to local grocery stores and stuff to get investors. Pretty savvy and focused behavior for a bunch of very young people.

I saw Green Hornet today and usually I don't mind Seth Rogan but he was annoying the hell out of me today. His over acting was just not right for the role. I wish they had casted someone else but I think he helped to pen the script.

Ok so I rewatched Akira. Wow I was wrong about this movie. I think the only reason I didn't like this before was because I didn't pay enough attention. This film has everything, great atmosphere, beautiful imagery, and an exciting story. A classic 10/10.

I hated Rogen in it too. Jay Chou basically upstages him in every scene. But I have to be grateful they didn't cast haggard washed-up Stephen Chow as Kato.

I am glad you like it. It's definetly the sort of movie which one should be prepared for. The right movie at the wrong time or under the wrong circumstance can be a real bore.

Related to that, I went back and spent some time on Svalbard in the norwegian High Arctic last summer. There's not always stuff to do in the evenings up there so I was showing movies in one of the university centres cinema-ish lecture rooms in the evening. After showing a movie, I got a request if I could show Blade Runner the following day by people who hadn't seen it, but knew it was a classic and had noticed it was in my collection. Like Akira, Blade Runner is a movie that needs involvement and the right frame of mind from the viewer to shine and I told them this and said they should be prepared for that.

Of course the next day, they came in drunk, loud and laughing, straight from the pub .. And sometime into the movie, they started falling asleep. Blade Runner for me is a 10/10, but I'm sure for them at that point, it was probably more like 2 or 3 out of 10

Silly poop nuggets that they were.

Anyways, were my spoilers right? Since you've just seen it, you should be a better judge than I am. I might remember something wrong!

lawl that's not fair, I wouldn't have minded Stephen Chow in it. Why do you feel he's washed up?

yeah Jay Chou is pretty awesome and a major scene stealer.
