Drug War (2012)
A movie about, you guessed it, a drug war between police and smugglers in China. It was made by Johnnie To—the guy responsible for the excellent Election movies—and though I didn't think it was quite up to the level of those two, it still was pretty great. There was tension by the boatload, a fair amount of surprises and some character motivations that kept me guessing until the end.

I watched part of the Avengers while falling asleep last night. I thought it sucked.

Yea, that movie was all glitz no substance or whatever people say to that effect. The only redeeming quality for me was Iron Man being a wise ass. It's one of those movies that afterwards I ask myself: "How did I finish that?".

The last battle sequence in the city was pretty fun to watch. Also, there were two Hulk moments that made me belly laugh.

It was definitely overrated, but it was still plenty fun. Agreed that it would have been far worse with RDJ though.

Escape From Tomorrow (2013)
Surreal black and white movie involving a guy losing his mind at Disney World. I wish the filmmakers had taken it a few steps further into messed up territory, but if nothing else I have to admire the creativity and audacity of filming a movie like this on Disney property without their permission.

Watched this last night. Although the plot is a bit ridiculous at times there's tons of cool atmosphere and really great cinematography. The final 15 minutes are crazy - I think I counted like 12,000 gun shots or so.

And I haven't wanted to do some blow so bad in decades.

Finally saw Interstellar today. WOW! Completely blown away. Amazingly powerful movie on an emotional level. The Nolan brothers hit another grand slam. Really surprised the movie didn't win more hardware at the Oscars.
