From what I read (and I am not a historian, for the record) the amazing Deadwood had period correct talk, or at least was as close to period correct as any movie/tv series got.
I loved True Grit and the way people spoke there very much reminded me of Deadwood, without most of the cursing. And with thicker accents.
If cowboys actually talked like that then **** Westerns.

Inside Llewyn Davis and Hail Caesar were amusing but nothing that blew me away, like a LOT of their other stuff.

They are writing Dark Web, a movie about the founder(operator) of the Silk Road, which should be cool.
True Grit the remake was pretty good. And **** you all who spoke bad of John Wayne. He was in one of my favorite movies of alltime Flying Tigers, so suck it.

I wish I could have a conversation with Swearengen. What a badass.

I got a load of movies for my collection for Christmas. I've been digging into:

My new Mel Brooks collection. It's got:
The Twelve Chairs
Blazing Saddles
Young Frankenstein
History of the World Part I
Silent Movie
High Anxiety
To Be or Not to Be
Spaceballs
Robin Hood: Men in Tights

The only worthy movie it's missing is the Producers. I can skip Dracula: Dead and Loving It.

Also got a massive Stanley Kubrick collection with:
Lolita
Dr. Strangelove
2001
A Clockwork Orange
Barry Lyndon
The Shining
Full Metal Jacket
Eyes Wide Shut

I just wish it had some of his earlier work like The Killing or Paths of Glory. I just rewatched 2001...man, that movie still blows my mind. It still holds up amazingly well.

And for my guilty pleasures, I got the entire Halloween franchise collection. I'm sucker for horror movies, even ridiculous ones. I got a chance to watch the Halloween 6 producer's cut, which is a lot different than the crap movie that was released. It's still crap, but it's crap that makes a lot more sense.

Blazing Saddles and History of the World Pt. 1 are works of art. Kubrick films almost always hold up. Eyes Wide Shut doesn't in my opinion but the rest are great.

I completely agree, there are so many classic moments in those movies. I'm a huge Madeline Kahn fan...one of the funniest people to ever grace the screen.

Surprised you haven't seen it, you'll love it, or at least every minute that Ian McShane is on screen.

Watched this again for like...the 4th time. And it's fantastic every single time.
