They're the best. Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, For Your Consideration, that one that I haven't seen called Mascots, and Spinal Tap which counts because it relies on a lot of improvisation.

Bullhead

Belgian film. It's difficult for me to put into words how reluctant I am to really loving this film. If anyone's seen this movie, could someone please explain the "deal" that's made between the mafia heavy-weight and Jacky (The main actor). I think if this gets explained to me, the rest of the film will sorta fall right in my lap. Beautiful cinematography though and the acting is incredible, all around.

Woof all that Star Wars bashing a few pages back. You'd think you guys were hardcore Trekkies or something.

While this movie has gotten some well deserved criticism, I still think it delivered what it was meant to deliver. People are complaining that the story went too far away from the original intent of Star Wars, but how the hell are they supposed to introduce new characters and develop those characters without the story being a little different. I personally love this movie and I'm looking forward to seeing it in IMAX with people at my work. I saw it a few weeks after its release, and I still enjoyed it.

I would probably still rate Rogue One as the best and The Last Jedi would be 2nd, with The Force Awakens taking 3rd place.
I can't be bothered to watch TLJ more than once. It was too much of a shock to my system. I didn't bother going to see it more than once like others have. Of course, I will pick it up on Blu Ray for extras and deleted scenes but it doesn't deserve me going to see the theatrical cut again. I rushed to see it opening weekend so I wouldn't get spoiled and by the time I saw it on Sunday. I already knew about the ending. Damn trolls. Rian Johnson just wanted to burn down any expectations people had and it was just frustrating to watch. I'm still holding onto the stories in my mind from the EU as canon even though they claim it isn't canon anymore. The Solo twins and Mara Jade would have been awesome on the big screen.

Just got out of Proud Mary, and it was decent. Basically, the story of everything is ass like I expected, there's one HUGE plot hole that I can't ignore, but it was entertaining.

Not to mention that the only reason they didn't get their **** kicked ALL THE WAY in was because Hitler ordered the Wehrmacht to stop outside Dunkirk for absolutely no reason anyone could tell (but which I understand was a power move against his generals as they still weren't entirely under his thumb by then) giving the English more time than they should have ever dreamed of to evacuate. If anyone at least moderately sane had been in charge of Germany Dunkirk would not have been any kind of miracle.

But it was a sweet ****ing movie that had me by the balls pretty much from beginning to end. It's a propaganda movie as much as just about any war movie is, but it's a pretty unique beast even so that's worth seeing even just as a movie.

Just watched La La Land. Pretty bummed that I missed it in the theaters, as it's a damn gorgeous movie. The music wasn't half bad. It's rare that I wish a musical would have more songs, but that's pretty much the case with this movie.

Interestingly bittersweet, somewhat unsatisfying ending. I mean, a good, interesting ending, but brave in that it doesn't give you that easy, nice Hollywood wrap up that you'd expect it to give you. So it's not entirely a feel good movie, although it ends up being so anyway by virtue of it's rich soundtrack and wildly creative and colorful visuals.

There was a very short moment near the end where the actors basically walk inside a set that looks like an impressionist painting. I couldn't help but feel disappointed they hadn't done the whole movie in that style. It would have been something truly special.

Anyway, very good movie. Ryan Gosling has a bit more range than I thought he did. Turns out he can do more than just brood.

And of course Emma Stone was good. I'll watch almost any movie as long as she's in it.

Intense film. Loved it.

I think the deal was that is that if he stalled the deal between the family farm and the 3rd party beef trader (which would have taken profits from the mob) they'd keep Jacky supplied with hormones.

In reality, Hitler is the real hero of Dunkirk.
