It legit just sounds like you watched it in a bad mood tbh.

I might watch that one since It's Paul Thomas Anderson and Day-Lewis (which I just found out by Googling. Wasn't actually aware it was by Anderson). While I didn't like There Will Be Blood, I really liked Inherent Vice and The Master.
You disgust me. TWBB is the greatest film ever made. Phantom Thread is closer to The Master though, but also very different for PTA.

Honestly, that's always a possibility, isn't it? I've often wondered whether it was me or the movie - whenever I've watched a movie that I expected to like but just didn't really feel into.

I just got bored with There Will Be Blood. That's really all I can remember about it.

Did you like Inherent Vice?

I thought that 3 Billboards was really overhyped as well, but the more that I meditated on it and what it was trying to accomplish, the more I grew to love it.

I also didn't like it at all. DDL trying to ape John Huston's drawl the whole movie was the least of the issues I had with it.

Ja ja ja I know how your basic ass would've preferred the film to unfold

2001 sucks because HAL doesn't go beep beep boop boop.

I don't remember my own reaction to that, but faked accents are risky business for any serious movie.

And DDL handles it incredibly naturally, but he's no John Wayne. Now that's an actor.

Missed this. You probably know that I'm going to say try again and I will but first I want to ask you how often it is that you enjoy character driven films? Seems like a theme across movies that you dislike.

TWBB is a fascinating display of power struggle accented by the effects of modern capitalism on the mind and family. The soundtrack, cinematography, and performances are just the icing on the cake. Try again.

I haven't seen it yet because I forgot that that existed, ****. It'll be the next movie that I check out (**** Dunkirke).

Easily his best imo.

TWBB is up there but I prefer the plot and setting of BN.
