Pretty sure I bought The Matrix on DVD.

I thought that DVDs were videogame versions of movies when I was a kid, like it was a new type of PlayStation or some ****.

Been sick the past few days, watched through a series called Hip Hop Evolution that goes through a detailed look into how hip hop started and how it's changed. It was really good, very well done. Probably revealed things that have never been documented before.

The Predator

Spoiler for SPOILERS / DISCUSSION:
This was definitely better than the last film [2010's "Predators"]. Making the Predators more well known amongst the military and scientific industries in the movie definitely widens the plot. I enjoyed seeing the Predator Hounds return.

I also enjoyed the dichotomy and feud between the 2 different types of Predators that was introduced in the last film.

The angle where the Predators are trying to take over Earth when the humans die off was definitely cool. I also like the universal translator, allowing the humans and Predators to communicate.

In the end scene, I was expecting to see some iteration of the Alien come out of the pod as the thing that would help humans fight off the Predators, but seeing how horrible the last AVP crossover was [2007's "Alien vs. Predator: Requiem"], it makes sense.

Just watched Punch-Drunk Love. So ****ing good. Paul Thomas Anderson's use of colors is spectacular in that film. Also far and away my favorite Sandler performance to date (although there isn't much competition there).

You prefer the older, more somber Sandler to the oaf from SNL and Billy Madison? He's gotta be my favorite Jew LOL.

I would say I'm definitely more inclined towards his serious performances after being burnt out on so many horrible comedic ones (even the alright ones lose their kick after awhile- there's only so many times one can watch Happy Gilmore). I heard he was good in The Meyerowitz Stories too and that coupled with the interesting dialogue direction in that film will likely lead me to watching it in the future.

And mother****er I mixed up Paul Thomas Anderson with Wes Anderson for the quadrillionth time. Gotta stop mixing my pretentious Andersons up.

One of my top PTA picks. It pairs nicely with Spanglish if you ever wanted to do a Sandler double-feature.

You recommend Adam Sandler movies to soccer moms?

Sandler was great in the film but the majority of the reason I enjoyed PDL was because of Anderson's directing. I'm skeptical of Spanglish cause I don't know who the director is and I've lost my trust in Sandler to blindly trust his performance.
