What's The Latest Film You Have Seen?

As the title says. what is the latest film you have seen and add a review, then maybe we can get some of you people into movies as well.

A MIGHTY WIND

From the creators of the immortal THIS IS SPINAL TAP (what do you mean you have'nt seen it?). Another mockumentary, this time concerning 60's folk music and a reunion gig off sorts. It is not achingly laugh out loud, but has some great lines. The acting is excellent and the music is played and written by all concerned. While it gently mocks the folk scene, there is enough to suggest a mutual respect.

Sparky 07-28-2007 11:03 PM

ive seen a bunch actually.

Simpsons Moviesurprisingly good. Still not able to live up to the classic episodes though, "Mr.Plow" etc

Boondock Saintsawful awful awful awful. Irish kill robots/devout catholics done horrible. Only cool thing in it was billy connelly :>

I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry most hypocritical movie ever. 1st hour involves every *** joke in the book (including dropping the soap). 2nd half tells you you shouldnt have laughed at the previous jokes, and that making fun of homosexuals is wrong >: [

....

jessica beil is hot though

Blades of Glory Funny=Will Ferrel. :)

The good shepherd matt damons best acting so far. Great cast, dont understand why it got mostly negative reviews. I thought it was amazing./

Aguire : Wrath Of God is a stunning film. The stories behind that film are legendary.

The Good Sheperd looks like a good solid film, will check that out.

Second time fella, he made A BRONX TALE in the early 90's, which is a great rites of passage film.

Sparky 07-29-2007 03:59 PM

well i haven't heard of that so it doesn't count >: [

jackhammer 07-29-2007 04:03 PM

You have heard of it now-no excuses!

Sparky 07-29-2007 06:19 PM

just finished watching "88 minutes"
the new al pacino movie, that isn't coming out till 2008 :>

it was pretty good, though, if it didn't have al in it it would have sucked. Which is true with any movie al is in.

Sparky 07-29-2007 06:39 PM

what about the 2nd godfather?

DUR HEL0000 ANY1Z?1?1

:P

plus, im not saying he's the best actor, but he is still an essential character in the first.

i get high sometimes 07-29-2007 06:41 PM

What about it? Deniro is just as good in that movie as Pachino is, in fact better.

Sparky 07-29-2007 06:42 PM

your miss quoting me.

im saying no movie would have been as good if they had cast someone else. im not saying there isn't any actor better then him.

though, he still pwns the hell outta any other actor.

<<<<look at avatar

i get high sometimes 07-29-2007 07:15 PM

Eh, its all opinion. Laurence Olivier and Marlon Brando are both far superior actors.
Lee Strasburg, Pachino's acting coach, is a better actor than Pachino IMO.
Pachino just has bad judgement when it comes to choosing which movies he is going to do, especially lately. The last good movie he made was Heat, and that was '95. EVen Scarface really isn't that great of a movie, over the top and cheesy.

Sparky 07-29-2007 07:18 PM

scarface is fantastic don't get me started.

I thought insomnia was okay, that was what-2001?

but yes, i like heat a lot myself. Matter of fact i own it.

You could argue robert de niro is just as bad, too many corney comedies recently.

i get high sometimes 07-29-2007 07:20 PM

I do argue that Deniro is just as bad.

Sparky 07-29-2007 07:22 PM

damn straight >: [

jackhammer 07-31-2007 05:59 PM

Pacino-DOG DAY AFTERNOON, SERPICO, GODFATHER PART II,HEAT,ANY GIVEN SUNDAY-an impressive array of films I think.

I will always prefer DE NIRO, but he has barely registered in my TOO SEE pile since 1995 with CASINO.

Beautiful little movie. Good choice.

<3_BEAUTIFUL_HELL_FAIRY_<3 08-01-2007 01:01 PM

i have seen 3 new movies lately.....

1. the messenger (pg-13)
2. Lets go to prison (unrated)
3. Epic movie (unrated

they were all really good..... the messenger i wouldn't reccomend watching unless you pay alot of attention to the little details in the movie..idk i like that but it has a bit of a twist at the end....
let's go to prison was absoulutely hilarious!! but i don't know why it was unrated there was no nudity... maybe cause of alot of swearing....but it was more a pg-13 movie I would say....

epic movie well you have to have seen all or atleast most of the movies to unerstand it.... but all ina ll it was good

Ramones : End Of The century.

Well put together doc of the seminal band. Recommended for all fans.

Starter For 10.

An underpraised exceptionally played British gem. It follows a guy from a working class background, whose dream is to appear on University Challenge, and attend university. Does'nt sound like much, but it's seet, tender and funny without all the sentimental schmaltz that usually comes with American films (Cameron Crowe excluded). It features a cracking 80's soundtrack-The Cure etc.

Wedding Belles.

A made for T.V 2 hour drama from co writer Irvine Welsh (Trainspotting). It concerns four women exacting revenge on the various men who have done them wrong. It is very funny, foul mouthed ( in authentic Scottish patter-even I struggled to understand some words!), violent, sex fuelled anarchic quality!

I'm sure I saw a clip of that film.
One of the women was crying after dropping a bombshell (something about being raped) and all the while I was transfixed by the long dribble of snot dangling from her nose.

Earthy stuff.

Pirates of the Caribbean 3

Worst. Film. Ever.

Yeah the snot dangle was awesome, but so was the performance-Shirley Henderson is a truly underated actress.

Adiddass-what do you expect? The first one was absolute tosh, so things can only go downhill.

adidasss 08-11-2007 12:41 PM

Actually I enjoyed the first one very much, I thought it was funny and entertaining. The second one was tolerable, the third one absolute disaster. I'll definitely try to avoid any future run-ins with Verbinski...

Four Brothers.

This one opens brilliantly, great wintry Detroit location shooting, great soul music soundtrack, and a great opening, alas; it soon dissapeared in a quagmire of cliches and some dodgy acting. Damn shame. I was really hoping for an old school revenge movie.

Sparky 08-27-2007 03:53 PM

i just saw wag the dog. Starts out interesting, then gets more and more ridiculous to the point where the original message doesn't make sense. Great Acting though :>

Urban Hat€monger ? 08-27-2007 03:54 PM

Carry On Matron :o:
