^ One of the most tense films I've ever seen. Even if it's not quite one of the best films I've ever seen it did live up to its premise and was actually pretty unnerving in places. I thought the ending was a tad underwhelming, but very good stuff overall.

^ Our teacher told us to watch it, as he made the Sound in that film. Great picture, loved it! It's so subtly funny yet touching. Every second is memorable, I'd recommend it.

^ Very bad movie. It's just too neutral. I wonder how it made it to the official Canne selection. It's a RomCom musical. The songs are not too bad, with a simpler arrangement and much better lyrics, they can get somehow good. All in all, the film was just a big disappointment.

I actually ended up liking Les chansons d'amour, it's a rare example of good music in musicals. Plus, the whole "pansexual" angle really appealed to me (which is why I wouldn't call it neutral, at least in that respect it's quite "edgy"). I guess I'm easy that way. :|

Are you insinuating HSM doesn't have good music in it?

J'ai Toujours Reve D'Etre Un Gangster actually looks pretty interesting. Especially how she has a gun in her waistband whilst breastfeeding.

I had to google HSM to figure out what you meant... I can't comment, I haven't seen it. Maybe I should...

That's actually sickening that I abbreviated that, like I was a fan. Maybe you should see it, it's definetly a learning curve...

Haha. I had to look that up too. Believe it or not I actually saw one of those movies once. My wife's cousin's step-daughter had it on so I sort of have an excuse.

Yeah... I watched it because I was looking after my cousin who's a toddler, so I assume I have an excuse too

The Lovely Bones by Peter Jackon.

If you like a shite scrip, average acting smothered with a shit load of special effects, this one is definitely for you!

TCM is showing a full month of Best Picture films this February and last night 8 1/2 was on, sans commercials. One of my top films ever.
