aka 'the Bicycle Thieves', and one of the more famous Italian neo-realist films. Fantastic film as well - does such a good job in portraying life in a borderline-anarchic, post-war Rome and tells such a deeply-affecting story about the struggles of the unemployed. Plus the kid in it is just about the cutest you'll see in any film ever :D

On the other hand, I despised this. Came across as far too pretentious and elitist for my liking, the story was incredibly hard to follow and I felt absolutely no connection with the characters either. That said, the death scene at the end is probably the funniest I've ever seen, so it wasn't all bad.

I'm surprised with how much this movie sucked. It is as bad as 300 if not worse.
