American Beauty is definitely a favourite, fine choice there.

Watch Mulholland Drive, quite possibly the finest film of the 00s.

Oh and The Social Network is the best film of 2010 thus far.

Good work James!

Yay!

A lot better than I thought it was going to be. It was actually okay and got a few laughs out of it.

Yeah, for the longest time I thought it was just another one of those Animal House rip-off things.

Downloaded it a couple of weeks ago, pleasantly surprised. I also enjoyed the cross-over from Forgetting Sarah Marshall in it.

No it wasn't that bad but if you grew up in the eighties and you love certain films (or any other era for that matter) then your expectations are high for a sequel that has a lot of praise and then are let down when all that you get is some admittedly cooler looking predators and not much else.

If I had never seen a Predator film then I would have liked it a lot more but I must have seen the original at least a dozen times so if Robert Rodriguez and lot's of fanfare are attached, then I want my arse blown off with something that I haven't seen before.

Hell, even the pretty poor second sequel set in motion the Aliens as sport angle when we were inside the predators spaceship.

The sense of camaraderie of the first film was sorely missing and if those beefcakes couldn't last against a predator what hope has a wimp, a sorely underused Danny Trejo, a typical hard nose female character and the man with the biggest nose in Hollywood have? Although Brody at least beefed up a little.

I couldn't even finish watching it. This film was soul-raping and succeeded in traumatizing me.

Quote:

From Trailer Addict: A co-worker of mine has been talking about this film for some time now, claiming that it’s supposed to be the most obscene, grotesque, depraved, and soul-raping film ever made. More so than Faces of Death.

A Serbian Film, directed by some random Serbian dude claims to be a film like no other ever created. People who have seen the film have left the film, gone to the lobby and puked. One man stood up to leave, passed out and broke his nose. The film currently is only being shown at various, super-select film festivals, banned in Germany, and as of now, only available through pirated versions online.

On a lighter note, the night before I watched:

It's a brilliant Korean monster film inspired by an incident in Seoul where a Korean mortician working for the US dumped an obscene amount of formaldehyde down the drain. Definitely some political commentary about the US, so if you're not too familiar with what's going on between the US and Korea, it's probably not a bad idea to brush up on it. Either way, check it out!

I've seen worse than Serbian, but it's definitely up there.
The Host is excellent.

One of my new favorites, creepy and fascinating.

I don't want to know what's worst than that film, TL. Call me a pussy, but I just can't stomach that shit. There was one scene in particular that really got me and I just can't shake it.
