Just seen Rob Zombie's Halloween. Great. Gore. It was an awesome movie.

No Country For Old Men

It was a pretty good film, although it felt like it was longer than it had to be. The psycho in it is one of the best characters i've seen in a while, the image of him with the gas cylinder is one that sticks in my mind. He does freak me out though :s
Some good acting and a bit of gore which is always good. I'd say it was pretty a good film, 7/10 or something.

Visually inventive but it just ran out of steam. I was hoping for something a little darker considering Bernia's characters delusional episodes. I also found Gainsbourg to be a complete turn off both physically and emotionally. Certainly not awful but a wasted premise definitely.

I've seen it and I absolutely loved it. Based on a true story about kids whose mother abandons them and they're left to fend for themselves...Best Koreeda's film...

I need to write an analysis for it. What did you think was the overall theme?

I was thinking something about resiliency? But i wanted somebody elses opinion.

What the hell did you make of the mother? I couldn't figure her out, she seems selfish. But still seems to love the kids a lot, i dont know how to stereotype her.

I'm not sure what the central theme is, perhaps abandonment or child neglect. You can throw in resiliency although I'm not sure about that seeing as how they don't really manage to stay in control very long. I'm not very good at analysis.

I'd describe the mother as a monster...that's the only word that comes to mind because I really can't process what she did to those kids...no matter how gentle she was when they were together, what she did was inexcusable. Pure selfishness.

Well, i meant resilient in the way of them still loving each other and sticking together.

Its a hard movie to analyze because it doest follow any formula >.<

Did you know he didn't even give the kids scripts?

Nope, but it makes sense, their acting was superb...
