they are saying that Bale is the absolute shoe-in for the award this year and that the Fighter may be the big upset for best picture

Well, I definitely thought it was on par with Black Swan at least, if not, it'll still be a great competitor, so I wouldn't doubt it. But for best actor? Bale should definitely get it.

Well, I guess Wahlberg was really the main actor in it, lol, but I think it's just because I thought Bale was better I assumed him to be the main actor.

I tried watching the King's Speech today as well, but the first 20 minutes were just boring as hell. I'm going to try and resume where I left off and see if it picks up because it got some really good reviews. Not sure if it's one of those that just kinda picks up from the middle or something.

That's because he's playing a loud character, and from what I've read he seems to have almost as much screen time as Wahlberg. But, it's still Wahlberg character's story and Bale is co-leading at best, if you apply the title Fighter on both of them.

As for best picture I think The Social Network will win, another film I have yet to see.

It did win Golden Globe, but yeah Social Network is one of my favourites from last year as well. So many good movies came out in 2010.

yeah i agree The Social Network is pretty close to a shoe in...i have not seen it either....but it's on its way .....oh thank heaven for netflix :)

I loved it as well. They should just make a sequel with only Hit Girl in it.

Kick Ass 2 is coming out in 2012 and I can't wait.
