Damn this was a let down. I thought this would be a pretty cool movie, but they bog down the story with all this boring and uneeded symbolic artsy shots that really, really detract from the movie. And it's not like there's just one or two. Almost half the movie is made up of these shots. Some of the scenes were really beautiful but for the most part unneeded. Also, the ending is ****ing AWFUL. Really hastily done, it's like the writer gave up halfway. I guess I'll give it a 5/10.

They Live (1988)

Pretty silly John Carpenter B movie. Decent social and cultural satire of the '80's consumer lifestyle, but I think American Psycho (2000) did it better. It had a ridiculously long fight scene between 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper and Keith David that is only matched by the one in Roman Polanski's Macbeth (1971). All in all though I thought it was a pretty decent '80's B action movie that definitely deserves a look.

Haha, that fight scene is hilarious! John Carpenter deserved some kind of award for it.

For a while I thought that scene was just going to be the rest of the movie, they just keep on fighting until Keith David puts on the sunglasses, sees the aliens everywhere and then cut to black. I guess when your star is a professional wrestler you may as well make the most of their limited skill set.

It think it may be the only fight scene in the history of cinema that involves someone trying to force another person to wear glasses.

Transformers 3 - Dark [Side] of the Moon - (Must have had problems getting that name.)
If you like explosions, loud noises, and big chunks of metal going at it to the point where you can't tell who is who, than go see this film. Worth the money.

It has really interesting shots. Camera work that seems highly influenced by The Graduate. It's an oversimplification of race conflicts but I guess it was at least an attempt to talk about it.

I really enjoyed this movie, it really is nice to see sci-fi take on the subject matter of eugenics in an intelligent and insightful way.
