What just happened?

Believe it or not I'd never actually seen this film until today, but I have read the novel and seen plenty of Coen Brothers films. I'm literally writing this just after the credits roll so I haven't fully formulated my opinion on it and I don't think I'd be able to say much about it that isn't obvious anyway. One thing I can say for certain is that this was a novel that was absolutely perfect for a film adaptation, or at least one put together by talented producers like the Coens.

Lol. No. I know you don't adhere to this point of view but I hate the notion that anything campy and reduculous is good because "that was its intention". Most b movies are great. I just don't like this one. The Chinese sidekick annoyed me. Kurt Russell trying to act like John Wayne annoyed me. Victor Wong was the only saving grace.

I don't subscribe to that notion either. What I was saying is that the movie is by-and-large a comedy so if you find it laughable, then that's a point in its favor.

I shouldn't have used the term laughable. I guess what I meant to see is I found it kinda lame.

Glengarry Glen Ross

Finally got around to watching this. What a tour de force of acting. Everybody was fantastic in this, especially Jack Lemmon. The guy is sorely missed on the big screen. I also thought Ed Harris was also fantastic. Great film.

The scene where Lemmon does the house call in the pissing rain, just incredible.

IMO the greatest movie ever made about selling.

Now here's a movie we can agree on! I've seen this movie dozens of times and absolutely love it every time I see it. A flawless script and amazing acting from everyone involved. After having lived in Chicago, I've come to find it slightly distracting that they moved the location of the movie to New York but kept all the Chicago-centric references in the dialogue, but that's not a big deal, just a little odd. Really, really fantastic movie.

and decided that the first film i watch on it has to be one of the most important to me
