What's The Latest Film You Have Seen?

Cherish (2002)

Young woman (Robin Tunney) is under house arrest for a crime she didn't commit. Couldn't tell if this movie was trying to be a comedy or a statement on loneliness. Wish they would have spent more time with her relationship with the ankle bracelet technician (Tim Blake Nelson). Not sure why there was so much '70s & '80s music in the film that was set in 2002.

I was trying to refrain from posting movies I have seen in this thread until I made it through Brazil but damn. I keep starting it up at the worse times and I never get to finish it because sometimes comes up.

Anyways, the last three movies I saw at the theater were:

This movie got **** on so badly by reviewers and by a few people that I know but it honestly wasn't that bad. Yes, the writing wasn't so great and it would have been nice for them to explore some of the bigger things that were going on and explained some stuff like whole the hell were the new forefathers and what event occurred for them to be put into power. Home invasion movies just creep me the hell out and I love to watch them the most when it comes to horror/suspense movies. I enjoyed The Strangers and Funny Games.

"rabble rabble rabble waaah the book is so much better than the movie"

Oh shut up and enjoy the two mediums separately. TBH, I was horribly tired when I went to see this and my 3-D glasses were sliding off of my face as I was slumped into my chair. I did get the basic jist of the movie and I enjoyed the parts that I did see. It may have been a tad bit long and the Serbia bit could have been cut but other than that. I didn't mind it. Also so the f what it's pg-13.

Honestly, I just wanted to see Emma Watson flick her tongue during that dance scene but it was such a short fleeting moment

. This whole movie had the same feeling as Spring Breakers were they are trying to tell a story in between music videos. The soundtrack was heavily used in this movie in a similar fashion that it was in Spring Breakers. The highlights for me was all of the clothes and shoes they were stealing. The houses they were breaking into felt like characters also. Emma's acting just seemed off. It was a bit hard to tell if she was doing a good job or ****ty one but every time she said her lines it just pulled me out of the movie. If you are into fashion you'll love this movie. If not I'd say pass on it.

I think a lot of the contention comes from the fact that zombies are so ubiquitous within the popular culture at the moment that taking the name (and really nothing else) from what is largely considered the best piece of zombie/horror literature and slapping it on an otherwise unrelated movie is just an insult and kind of prevents any future attempts of recreating the book. You could just call it "Them Cunts Be Dead" and so long as you go out of your way to make sure the audience understands it's a movie about zombies, it will still turn a profit.

I don't think it prevents a proper recreation of the book. All they have to do is come up with a different title and market it letting people know that it's more faithful to the book than this previous film was but they should probably way a few years before doing it.

Also my thing is if I wanted to read the book I would. I didn't go into this movie expecting it to be a faithful adaption of the book because one I have very little faith in film makers that attempt to do that and two I choose to view movies as a different medium that can't always capture all of the magic that is in the pages of the book so I take it at face value and realize that it's just the director's vision for it.

I haven't seen the film yet. I was at a wedding this weekend. I have however read the book four times. It truly is a wonderful book and I can't help but be reminded of another of of my absolute favorite books of all time that got a movie made that followed none of the actual written story and that is I Am Legend. Both films seem to completely trail off from the original mood, meaning, and structure of its written counterpart.

I'll still see it but I'll in no way expect anything like the book. I just wish, as Pete said, that they didn't slap the same title on an otherwise "original" movie.

Yep, lol, that's the one. I've never saw either one. They both looked REALLY boring to me when I glanced at someone watching them when I was little and the themes at the beginning were too long, dramatic, and too many stars. In the back of my kid mind I thought, Omg guy stuff...

We don't have or watch cable, but when we did he liked stuff like the Crocodile Hunter while I did not.

Star Trek, I kind of agree with you might be boring and a bit much to take in but try the newer ones from JJ Abrams. They are a bit more accessible.
I think now that you are older you will appreciate the philosophical and religious themes within Star Wars while being entertained at the same time. It's a bit deeper than you think it is.
Plus you were little then so why not try it out now that you are older? or are you still little?
