I've seen it... although it was on the plane so I'm sure the experience was a lot lamer than it should have been. It was also quite a while ago, but what I remember is an artsy sort of flick, with no definitive course, it was really just snapshots of the man's life. I think it's worth seeing, especially if you're into that sort of thing, and I've actually been meaning to rewatch it because I think I would enjoy/appreciate it a lot more now than I did then.

TheCunningStunt: How is Natural Born Killer? Cause I've been wanting to see that one for a long time.

Yet to watch it I'm afraid, I have 4 films sat infront of my TV, if I don't go pub tomorrow night I'll watch my way through them and then let you know. Another 4 should come in the post as well. Have you seen I'm Not There? I have higher expectations for that than the rest, is it any good?

Yes. Worth the experience of watching I think, even if you don't like it, simply because it's so unique.

Just standard, I already had Dawn, and buying Night, I thought I may as well finish the early trilogy.

Got this today and it's so-so but for a disc with 2 and a half hours of docs, postcards and a comic inside it was well worth the huge amount of the £1 I paid for it!

What version did you get of this? As the film was in public domain for so long there are umpteen versions on DVD out there.

This is generally regarded as the best version as it's Romero approved with a great picture and solid extras:

I had to get this baby imported (along with the rest of the trilogy to be fair- Dawn of The Dead has a stunning 4 disc version that cost me a lot but well worth it).

The version I got looks like this.

On the front it says it's the officially authorised Romero 40th Anniversary Collectors Edition.

Very nice packaging IMO, fold out style. In regards to the special features, it has 2 audio commentaries, with Romero, Russo and some of the cast and crew. A feature length documentary called 'One For The Fire', I think it's about the legacy of NOTLD (EDIT - It's an indepth making of with the surviving crew, about 90 mins I think), and an interview with Duane Jones, as well as the original screenplay. DOESN'T have Night of the Living Bread unfortunately, nor 'There's Always Vanilla'.

Apologies for the extremely dodgy, rushed phone shots here. Can't find any pics on the net.

The colour is a bit ****ed in the photos, the pink is actually a flat blood red against clean black and white.

That looks a great package. Admittedly I bought my copy a few years back and I would love to see the doc on the disc.

As for finding the best disc, I usually go here:

2009 award for Best Use of Bill Murray, though I haven't seen Fantastic Mr. Fox yet.

I'm thinking Sophie Dahl has ran out of Grandfather Roald Dahl's money when I heard Fantastic Mr Fox was going to become a movie. The book is ****ing excellent, one of my favourites.
