^^^

You only just bought Halloween? Tut tut.

The Outsiders? love that movie and haven't seen it for years and a nice reminder to add it to my dvd wishlist

How is Village Of The Damned although I am a Carpenter fanboy, I have heard bad things about it and the original is fantastic so I never got around to watching it.

Hey, better late than never, right?

As for VOTD, I haven't watched it yet, but I also loved the original. My mom said this version was good too, so I decided to take a five dollar chance on it.

I picked up these three movies yesterday for $10.00 altogether.

Strange Days (1996)

Frailty (2001)

The Machinist (2004)

Most movies I buy now are ones that I really, really like so it makes scouring the used CD shops worth trying to find the good ones that slip through the cracks. Strange Days is easily my favourite science fiction movie, Frailty was quite a surprise and good directorial debut for Bill Paxton, and The Machinist had one of my favourite horror scenes in recent memory and it makes me wonder how Christian Bale went from 130 lbs to however much he weighed for Batman Begins a year later.

Nice little haul there.

Strange Days is a little bloated but it has a well trodden premise given gravitas and energy from Bigelow.

Frailty is superb, why hasn't Paxton directed again?

I found The Machinist a bit of a one trick pony personally. Well directed film, superb performances and an eerie atmosphere but take away Bale's performance and it could be an X files episode.

got Hobo with a Shotgun, The Manchurian Candidate (original Frank Sinatra version, not that crap remake with Liev Shreiber) and Jonah Hex (a huge flop, I know, but kinda curious how it turned out, wasn't that much a fan of the comic at all)
