Well, The Office has been overall pretty lackluster for a while now. They lost something after the writers strike a few years back. This season has had its moments, but it's definitely shown that it's time to wrap things up. I was really hoping next season would be the last. Now, today I just read that Steve Carell will be leaving the show after next year. Please conclude the show next season, pleaseeee. No Michael Scott = no show.

The British Office > American Office.

Why do the Americans let television series run on for far too long? 2 series and a christmas special and job's a good'en.

Right on. And I just love Ricky Gervais. He's also half-Canadian so that scores him some brownie points

They are both funny. I don't really feel the need to compare the two.

I think the British Office is the better show but i think you have to stop comparing the two to appreciate the American Office.

Its faster paced, longer seasons, more episodes and so it doesnt have the look and feel of a documentary which was so vital to the quality of the original. I feel you have to view the American Office as a straight sitcom and no more and if you do then I think it's really funny. I've watched Seasons 1-5 recently and am just starting on season 6.

Oh and even though I think the British characters beat their equivalents for the most part, Dwight over Gareth any day.
