but dont you feel like its, wrong like some of the questions the commercial had was " If you knew you would not get caught would you cheat on your wife?"

Lizzie 02-10-2008 11:20 PM

Yeah, they ask pretty personal questions, it's kind of a retarted show, but when you've got nothing better to do...

djchameleon 02-11-2008 09:08 AM

moment of truth is the lowest of the low.......they get people in trouble with their jobs and marriages/relationships....yeah it's interesting for outsiders but if you were placed in the same situation it wouldn't be so fun and interesting.......I hate most reality shows but I end up watching them anyways because there is nothing else on......hurry up writers strike be over already.....I hear it's pretty close to being over.

I love thoose shows too:( escept Frasier, that show's horrible

Miltamec Soundsquinaez 02-11-2008 07:11 PM

Friends-what? not funny, poor Seinfeld rip-off, with unbelievably uninteresting characters
Home Improvement-Ha, this show was actually #1 ahead of Seinfeld for a while, lol
M.A.S.H.-apparently this show is really socially conscious, but I can never get over how boring it is
American Idol-only judges people's voice, people with best voice hardly ever end up being interesting or endearing, and the judges seem to make sure that no one interesting ever gets through
Moment of Truth-actually the concept of people being forced to be honest is a novel one. What makes it depressing is we live in a society full of lying liars, who probably love being able to voyeuristically share people's tumultuous concerns, while revelling in the fact that they're in the safety of watching from their own T.V.
All reality T.V. shows - garbage, it just shows that we're not real as society anymore, and we have to go home from our plastic-job personalities, and turn on the tube to see what's real.

Seltzer 02-11-2008 09:02 PM

Reality TV. I'm not the biggest fan of Family Guy either... but that's more of an 'overrated' thing rather than a hate thing.

TV in NZ really does suck.

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 02-11-2008 10:02 PM

Everything on MTV
The OC
Flava Flave's Flavour of Love
M*A*S*H
Cheers
Friends
Will & Grace
Seinfeld
King of Queens
Everything on the Home & Garden channel - especially real estate shows
CSI (except that one episode where the dude got his head eaten off by wild animals, that was grim)
CSI: Miami
CSI: New York
American Idol
Canadian Idol
They Pussycat Doll's Search for the Next Doll
Little People, Big World

tkpb938 02-11-2008 10:46 PM

OMG no ones mentioned The OC or Laguna Beach yet? WTF...?!!?

Those shows truly make me wonder if there's any hope whatsoever for western civilization.

Normally I can't stand reality TV but I'll make an exception for any with Gordon Ramsey involved.

Actually, come to think of it, that show True Life (think thats what its called) can be very interesting and informative sometimes. It depends what the episode is about.

Never speak to me................................EVER!!!!

I think the worst of the worst would have to be:
The Biggest Loser (fitting title though)
The Hills (A new low in the Paris Hiltonization of todays youth)
Desperate Housewives (completely vapid)

but the absolute worst offenders would have to be:
Entertainment Tonight and any of the other papparazzo shows, I seriously can't wait until 14 years from now I'll get to watch Anna Nicole Smith's daughter lose her virginity in an ET exclusive. It makes me fucking sick

[MERIT] 02-14-2008 01:50 PM

Anything on Lifetime or Oxygen gets my vote.

jackhammer 02-14-2008 02:08 PM

I think Ashes To Ashes is looking to be one.

Urban Hat€monger ? 02-14-2008 03:04 PM

I really want to like Ashes To Ashes but Keely Hawes character just irritates me.

They should have just made a show about Gene Hunt without all the time travel stuff in it.

right-track 02-14-2008 05:08 PM

I'm disappointed they moved the filming to London.

I don't mind the time travelling thing too much, but it's hard not to compare with the last series.
Spoils it a bit.

jackhammer 02-15-2008 12:40 PM

I wanted to like Ashes To Ashes but I knew I would dislike it. The premise of the first series was the intrigue. Although it was fairly obvious what Sam was experiencing, you were still guessing. This time around i'm not and 80's fashion was crap and it's wholly contrived with the relocation etc. Shame.

Mojo 02-21-2008 09:12 AM

I watched the first Ashes to Ashes but havent seen the second one yet. I liked it, but its certainly a little underwhelming.

In response to the topic of this thread.....The Mighty bloody Boosh!

i agree with that
i dont think ive ever hated an idea for a show so much
"hey lets ruin people's marriages by airing out their dirty laundry & paying them for it!"
how moral

Mojo 02-27-2008 04:50 AM

A terrible idea for a show it may be, in terms of executives producing what will be (i should say 'probably' but im not going to) an absolute load of **** to entertain the idiots but whos the bigger idiot? The idiot who stands to make money from it or the idiots who actually agree to be on this show?

Once you agree to be on such a show, its your own fault if your marriage falls to pieces.

actually it's not as bad as it may seem....I've watched interviews with the host and how it works is that they take 75 questions during the lie detector test then they are given a chance to talk to their family members about any of the questions weeks before the show......the people actually like airing out their dirty laundry because they feel like they can now get something off of their chest that they have been holding in for awhile and they don't care that it's infront of millions of people.

Urban Hat€monger ? 02-28-2008 03:38 PM

There was a case in the papers not so long ago where a girl wanted her ex boyfriend to appear on one of these shows.
He refused to go.
When the show found out about this they constantly phoned him at work & also made phone calls to his house in the early hours of the morning and basically just harassed him until he agreed to go on.

boo boo 02-29-2008 09:19 PM

A million bucks says the show gets cancelled when one of the contestants is found murdered.

But then again, its a show on FOX, so its probably cancelled already.

I'm pretty much in love with Gordon Ramsey. :yeah:

On the top of my list of shows to hate are any soap operas. Who comes up with the crappy story lines for this stuff anyway?? "Oh no! My boyfriends sisters uncles roommate, who used to be my lesbian lover but left me for a the doctor she was seeing about her inoperable brain tumor, (and by the way, she's pregnant with quadruplets), just got hit my a speeding semi-truck and is laying in a hospital bed with only days to live!" Dum, Dum, Duuuuuuummmm.
