Favourite cartoon?

Not animated movie. Just cartoon's. Series or one offs. i can see most people saying The Simpsons but I adore :

http://imagecache2.allposters.com/im...ts-Posters.jpg

It's childish enough for the kids to enjoy but it has an underlying subversiveness that adults enjoy too.

Other faves:

Duck Dodgers In The 24 1/2th Century.
Dungeons and Dragons.
Trap Door.
Battle Of The Planets.
Roadrunner.

...and don't tell me you don't watch them-everyone does! Anything out there that I may have missed? I keep meaning to get into Family Guy but never seem to get around to it.

Farfisa 03-06-2008 02:24 PM

yes I watch spongebob and Ren & Stimpy (both of which have parts kids don't fully understand, like you said above).

swim 03-06-2008 02:32 PM

Cartoons are the only thing I watch on TV. I like Code Name Kids Next Door, Sponge Bob, Rocko's Modern Life, Looney Tunes(of course) The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Camp Laszlo and The Avatar(I don't know the full name it comes on Nickelodeon). I Hate My Gym Partner's A Monkey and Ben Ten. My favorite is Foster's Home For Imaginary friends.

adidasss 03-06-2008 02:41 PM

I love Spongebob. Sadly we don't get many quality cartoons here and I don't have CN. So I guess I'll go with the usual, South Park and Family guy...:\
Does anime count? Monster is pretty awesome...:\

Ren & Stimply doesn't play anymore=(
And Spongbob is just retarted

I love the Classic Looney Tunes the best,
'Cause they makes me laugh so much
I dunno why, I find them hillarious

Cartoons are better than most things that play on TV

Blasphemy! The whole premise of the show is built upon creatures (two of which are inanimate) who regulary frequent a beach that is underwater. Absolute genius! If you throw in the fact that the theme tune and Mr.Krabbs are voiced by one Clancy Brown, then you get a totally subversive family programme!

Lizzie 03-06-2008 04:39 PM

His voice makes me want to shoot myself :(

90's version hellz yea and I thought Batman Beyond was pretty cool. The newest one was horrible. The old X-men was pretty ace too.

Leo© 03-10-2008 09:06 PM

Batman Beyond was great.

crow t robot 03-10-2008 11:56 PM

I'm really sad Recess got canceled.
During my younger days I dreamed of going to 3rd Street School.
That's how school was supposed to be.

sleepy jack 03-29-2008 03:34 PM

Scandalous.

Miltamec Soundsquinaez 03-29-2008 03:57 PM

The Simpsons
The Muppet Babies
Garfield
....and TMNT........you sick bastards

LoathsomePete 03-20-2009 04:23 PM

Futurama
Hey Arnold
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes (I'm convinced I'm the only person that liked this show)

Molecules 03-20-2009 04:58 PM

Ren and Stimpy obviously, decent cartoons are really thin on the ground right now, at least on UK tv... South Park repeats always get laughs if i'm on the deathbed of boredom.

The only other big 'adult' cartoons in syndication are Family Guy and the Simpsons, the former doesn't make me laugh anymore and the latter is a dead horse.

back in the day though it was always Turtles, though of course I preferred the really violent movies

getting deja vu here... so if i've already said all this give me a telling off

Molecules 03-20-2009 05:12 PM

Bring back Home Movies already, that was inspired, especially when watched late night

okay time to drag out some memories, by their hair if necessary

this one is singed onto my brain forever. We used to rent the tiny toons game on the Megadrive which i thought was amazing

This was weird, with the cock-nosed bad guy

this was the f*cking best

i won't burden you with all the Disney shows i came across, they obviously weren't doing too badly in the 90's

Piss Me Off 03-20-2009 06:15 PM

You've been bringing too much nostalgia on me lately Molecules.. :o:

musicvideohistoryfan 03-20-2009 06:31 PM

Since this is a music forum, I have to admit I was always a fan of 1960's Beatles cartunes as they were called.

The Flintstones were also quite clever especially when they had guest stars such as Samantha Stevens (using the actual voice of Elizabeth Montgomery and D. York's Darren's voice) from "Bewitched".

I also loved the Pink Panther cartoons on NBC along with the music that went along with it (the anteater cartoon series during the Pink Panther was also a classic).

Another one of my favorite cartoons as a kid, that was also very musical, was the Archies, and the Jackson 5 and the Osmonds' cartoons were cute.

I also had a fondness as a kid for the Scooby Doo cartoons. (I always wanted a copy of that van that the Scooby Doo mystery solvers drove around in).

i love spongebob and rugrats also

Boondocks is hilarious. Other cartoons I thought were good have to be The Angry Beavers and Catdog just cause both were so different from other shows. They were funny in a weird way other than obvious humor.
