I do not. I used to, not anymore. I play mostly alone, even in multiplayer games. I just really enjoy analyzing games, making excel sheets, min/maxing, etc

You know what I'll be doing in Ultima Online when the server goes official? Running an in game shop for players to buy weapons, armor, and furniture.. breeding animals, gardening, and collecting resources. Does that sound like a sport to you? You know how I play POE? Slow as fuck, in the solo self found league. When I played WoW(after I quit raiding), I made my own 1 man guild and went out PvPing alone in the open world which has no rating system or I dueled people outside of town. Minecraft? single player, 0 competition hardcore progression modpacks.

I mean the list goes on.. if you want more examples.

Don't be a dullard.

Nah I think elph was right. Same culture because competition tends to bring out the worst in people #downwithcapitalism.

Sports fans aren't toxic, I know a guy who analyzes football stats for fun and he makes graphs and a bunch of other dorky **** with them.

nah it's genuenly just easier to be a douchebag online

i don't think it's nearly as competitively driven in video games as much as it has to deal with people letting go of pent up rage or just straight trolling. that's not to say there aren't people that are just too competitive in gaming as well, but in my entire high school/university sports career i can't say i played any sport against a guy trying to troll somebody. i've heard teammates get pretty harsh on each other but never to the extent you see online, it's just so much easier to cross that line.

adding to this there really seems to be a disproportionate amount of MAGA/MRA guys in online gaming. it could totally be because it's way edgier to put something like MAGA in your username than LGBT, or maybe i just tend to notice it more when it's something political.

idk, either way it seems like nerds love trump.
