Me too.

Been playing through Wind Waker again. It's a lot of fun. Enjoy it way more then Twilight Princess

That's what I've been playing recently too. :thumb:

I loved the Twilight Princess and it's more dramatic style, excellent graphics and music, but I actually think Zelda looks best in a more cartoony style, it helps it stand out among the other action adventure games out there, I don't think Zelda will ever stick to just one style though, it'll go back and forth between the two which is a great way to keep things from feeling too redundant in it's presentation.

The people who hated on The Wind Waker for it's "kiddie" visual style can go f*ck themselves, next to The Minish Cap it's the prettiest Zelda game to date. The cell shaded look makes the whole game feel like an interactive saturday morning cartoon, and a really damn good one at that. Even the little things like stuff blowing in the wind, seagals soaring in the sky and the clouds of debris that explosions leave behind always wowed me with the detail that went into them. I also loved how much more expressive Link had become with his new visual makeover and for the first time he had a real genuine personality.

Bought this off Steam on Friday and have been playing it off and on throughout the weekend. It takes awhile to get use to the PC controls which makes the combat feel a bit more static then when I played it on the Gamecube. Also whenever I play it I have to turn off the dual processor in the task manager because the game lags immensely when it plays. It also means I have to play with the graphics on low which makes it look blotchy. Regardless it's still as fun as it was back in 2003, but I wish I got it for the PS2 or Gamecube.

most shooters offer an option to adjust the 'head bob' in the options. i'm pretty certain the original STALKER had that option, not sure why it would be removed or hidden though.

the worst game i played for causing motion sickness was the original Descent, back in the day when the term 'aspect ratio correction' didn't exist yet haha

either way, how does Clear Skies compare to the original?

It looked promising at first, but the game was quite hard and the gameplay is just lacking. Controls are awkward, there's just no "feel" to the game for example when you fire a gun. It was also like that in the original STALKER, but this time I actually lost interest early on and haven't picked it up again after the first two-three sessions.

Oh and the game would crash now and then, usually sometime after about 20 minutes in. That was also a bit of a pain. :p:

edit :

I might pick it up again once I'm done with Dragon Age Origins .. But not before!

Quite similar in many ways obviously, but the game is more motivating. The quests are funnier and the story so far is a bit more interesting. Basically, it's more entertaining. I'm comparing now to Neverwinter Nights 2. Possibly the skills system is dumbed down a bit - can't quite remember what it was like in NWN2, but it's quite simple in Dragon Age.

Something which is refreshing is that the game is quite hard, sometimes even on easy. On normal, you really have to think about what you're doing and you'll find yourself beaten and possibly a little frustrated quite often. Knowing the capabilities of each character seems more vital here than in most other games of this kind that I've played (Knights of the republic 1 & 2, NWN 2, Mass Effect). I read that the game is overall easier on consoles though.

Oh and they've included gay romance options, more so than in Mass Effect. In this setting, homosexuality seems to be as accepted as heterosexuality. The male elf I just picked in my party up is hitting on my manly dwarven warrior. :p:

Nice:p:

This and Mass Effect are both games that I think I would really enjoy. I've always been a fan of RPG's or just games with a story. That's why I don't like a lot of FPS's, because I can't really get into the story and that prevents me from caring about what I'm doing.

thumbs up to you.

I personally think Wind Wakers graphics hold up better then Twilight Princess. And I feel terrible saying "hold up" because Twilight is not an old game really. Just it's graphics are nothing special, when Wind Wakers is still a beautiful game I adore revisiting.

Both are great. I'm not hating.....also I've been playing Borderlands.

I thought the graphics in TP were fantastic, not so much from a technical standpoint, but just the art style was really beautiful, the environments were very dazzling, as were the bosses. I loved the little things too like the lights and shading effects which while nothing spectacular compared to a lot of next gen games, I felt they really worked with that game. I've complained in the past about games that use a lot of bloom, but it really worked for Twilight Princess.
