Red Dead Redemption is by far my favorite Sandbox game.

I think I would have enjoyed Red Faction more, had it not been a "Red Faction" game. I was just expecting way more than what I got.

I like rockstar games for their awesome stories, characters, setting, mature subject matter, but they're not that much fun to actually play, at least not the new ones

Have you played RDR?
It's possibly in my top five favorite games of all time.

Haha. No.

San Andreas was the pinnacle of Rockstar-dom. Pretty graphics and cool physics aren't going to sell me on a game, as desperately as developers want them to. Not to say RDR is bad by any means (in fact, I think it's quite good) but it has nothing on any of the PS2 era GTA's, imo.

Oh and Oblivion is my favorite sandbox game this gen.

Oblivion i think of as an rpg or i totally would agree with that.

Red dead redemption was an awesome story, and had great shooting mechanics, but didn't have much to offer gameplay wise.

I compared them using youtube video's and I get the idea that GT5 is more about driving, Forza is more about Racing.
I think it's a question of taste here, I enjoy the driving itself, not so much the game/winning element :)

Don't get me wrong, but San Andreas was amazing. I still think, because all of the online playability and what not that RDR was better, in my opinion.

And if we're counting RPGs like that, Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas would be my favorite.

Well I guess that's where the difference in opinion comes in. I've always been more about single player then multiplayer, especially with Rockstar games. To be fair though I haven't played RDR online, so I'll give it a try.

I prefer Oblivion over Fallout personally, no doubt they're both fantastic games. I just like medieval as a setting more then post-apocalyptic.

no...i had the ps3 version :(

But i did use to play gta4 online with friends and it wasn't as fun as we'd hoped.

It does seem fun hunting bears though with friends.

gta4 online is awesome...you and your friends were doing it wrong.

when I go online with my friends we tear up the free roam mode. we get a car so all of us could roll together in the same ride while doing drive bys on other people and heading to the airport for each one of us to pick up a copter then the shenanigans ensue
