I'm playing Shattered Dimensions at the moment.

It's by far the best spiderman game but I just really really dislike spiderman games overall.

You can't dislike spiderman 2 on the PS2 surely?! I don't particularly like comic book heroes but I loved that game!

Does Shattered Dimensions have a similar swininging mechanic and an open world?

PdotS What do you think of the Batman: Arkham Asylum game?

I never thought I'd be saying it, but the game is actually difficult now, and I love it.

Actually sounds nuts! Surival mode on full whack. Your a brave man. Have you ever played the Stalker games? I wanted to know if they were a bit like that, full on surival against the world deals, or am I just making that up?!

my fave Spiderman game on the PS2 is actually Ultimate Spiderman, mainly cos of its cel-shading and open-ended world

I haven't tried that one but the thing about Shattered Dimensions that I like is that it covers Amazing Spiderman, Spiderman 2099, Ultimate Spiderman and this Noir Spiderman. I don't know his official name. The swinging mechanic is smooth like in Web of Shadows if you played that one.

It isn't open world though. It's very linear and stream lined but the boss battles and different mechanics used for the different type of spiderman is pretty great.

Spiderman 2099 slows down time, Noir Spiderman is more of a stealth type thing, Ultimate Spiderman has a rage meter thing that he uses.

As far as Arkham goes, I highly recommend that you get that one and play it. Especially before Arkham City comes out.

Definitely the best Batman game created.

O right, I never played that one either! I do like cel-shaded graphics though when they are done well. Did that game have similar swinging mechanics and an open world?

I've just looked spider videogames up and their are an awful lot of them arn't there! Did anyone play friend or foe, or web of shadows?
I played Spiderman 3, and I couldn't get into it that much, maybe cause I thought the film was a bit dull.

djchameleon 09-02-2011 05:49 AM

Web of Shadows was a bit open world and they had these quest type things you could always be doing on the side instead of going along with the main story but I never finished that one because of not being a big Spiderman fan.

I love the movies but as far as the videogames. No thanks.

I've played it a few times and I absolutely agree, it's superb! I'm pretty hyped for Arkham City too, got it on pre-order. I only hope theirs a bit more variety in the enemy types, but thats a minor concern.

And shattered dimensions sounds pretty fun, if I ever see it cheap I'll think about buying it and putting it on the backburner of games I'm yet to play.

yeah, it's cel-shaded and open world - but it's based on the Ultimate universe, that means Peter Parker is a really scrawny teenager dating Gwen Stacey and he's still in high school

edit :- I detested Spiderman 3 with a passion - the fighting and wall-climbing mechanics are totally bogus

Little Big Planet on PS3.

My friends and I are masters. Which is to say that we just alter our mindstate, ahem, and turn off Netflix long enough to play it when we're not in the mood to go bar hopping.

Sounds interesting! I think I'd like the fact that it's differnt setting to the normal Mary Jane Watson spidey storylines.

And DJ Chameleon, are you looking forward to the Spiderman movies reboot?
