The kid was obviously expecting too much. If you've liked past Zelda's, you will really like this. The basic formula is the same save a few key changes:

Every little new area is filled with obstacles, it feels more alive.

Motion sensing tech adds a new layer to combat.

The dungeons are the best I've played in Zelda games.

What do you mean by that?

I kind of agree with Sparky. The side quests were pretty bad. I think the main reason they were bad was because there was only one main hub where you could access sidequests and then act them out. And Skyloft really just wasn't that interesting of a place. The worst thing in this game is how they left the Sky World completely barren. They could have made it alot more interesting by having different islands in the sky, not just for sidequests, but for exploraton as well. But back to the sidequests, you were basically performing a bunch of tedious tasks on a small, isolated island. In past games, everything was connected so you could perform sidequests that encompassed a much greater area, not to mention the hubs (multiple hubs in some cases, which is a huge plus) in past games were just alot more interesting.

The other main gripe I have for this game is the repition. Some aspects of it were good, but some were just tedious. I don't want to say what for people who haven't played the game though.

However, as I've mentioned before in this thread, the dungeons and bosses were the best I've seen in the Zelda series. And I thought the use of motion control was great. It was a really fun game to play.

Didn't you not complete the game?

I'm the exact person who liked previous zelda games so I don't know who else you could refer to.

The game feels devoid of life. Because of the attempt to make the textures look less old and the motion sensing 1-1 **** it seems like they weren't able to include too many different character types on screen. They're is only one goron dude in the game.

Dungeon seemed better because theyre simpler and easier but in retrospect really weren't that great, exception being the pirate ship.

I think hardcore zelda fans will be the only group who will come away dissapointed. Best sword fighting game ever though, easily

EDIT: still worth playing through. The upgrades are neat too.

Been going through a NHL 12 Phase. they have worked out the hiccups on the game and the graphics are tremendous. I like how they have incorporated the faceoff draws into the joysticks.

Yeah, I try to get as many achievements as I can in games. I've finished at least 60+ games by now. Achievements just give me extra little things to do in games. And yeah, some multiplayer chievos suck.

It's one of the harder classes to play as, but there's nothing more satisfying than headshotting an enemy from all the way across the map (my record is 459 meters). As for Super Mario Galaxy, it's awesome. It feels pretty much like Super Mario 64 just with way crazier level design. It's a nice contrast, when I get tired of capping n00bs, I just go ground pound some goombas.

My record headshot is 655 Meters. :D

Oddworld: Strangers Wraith HD

It's surprisingly good. Never played the original on xbox, but it's still a really charming, fun game.

I got picked for the closed beta test for Tribes:Ascend

It's a new iteration of the Starsiege:Tribes franchise though they've obviously dropped the Starsiege side of things. I really enjoyed that classic giant robot game, played way faster than Mechwarrior but Tribes never really grabbed me.

The really novel thing with T:A is the movement. It's essentially all about skiing and jetpacks. Either that sounds awesome to you or GTFO! of the game. It's intended to be a free to play class based team shooter... but the default classes you start with are so similar that it doesn't really work. Yet. Most CTF matches turn into a weird twist on their TDM mode where one player from each team circles the map at ~200km/h so the other side can't score a point.

It's definitely worth keeping tabs on, especially for people getting bored with the typical 'gritty realism' of modern shooters.
