This is how it started. It got worse and worse for me, until I sold my console and games. It's been almost 2 years other than playing the occasional game on steam. You should get it checked out if you don't want it to be permanent.

I don't want to have to sell all my gaming junk, but if that's the way it goes... I can always use some money, I guess.

What have you been playing? I've been in situations like that before, where I can never decide on what to play because I have too many games so I just cycle through them, playing a few minutes and then turning off. The solution I've found is to either go to a completely narrative focused game like Monkey Island, Dear Esther, The Stanley Parable, etc., or go to a game that is almost entirely gameplay focused like Dark Souls, Hotline Miami, etc. where the narrative is largely irrelevant.

I've been a big fighting game/arcade game fan for years and a lot of what I've been playing in recent months has been stuff like that. King of Fighters, Street Fighter, Tekken... Some arcade shooters, stealth games, Armored Core. My favorite types of games, basically. I don't seem to have the patience/interest for them anymore. Right now at least. Feels weird!
Narrative games never really held my attention and I'm burned out 100% on everything open-world and/or RPG related.

Switch to PC. Your console frustration will go away.

The thought has crossed my mind. Maybe I'd like some relaxed indie titles? I'm not so sure...

I have the same thing, but for pretty much everything except for music I'm already familiar with I love. Though, it's easier to get into new music than to watch a movie.
These days I sometimes have more of an interest in analyzing/critisizing games for future articles than actually playing them.
I guess for me it's less that I'm sick of games and more that i'm depressed, but whatever.
I have noticed straight to the point games I can easily pick up and play yet are still challenging right away that have little to no filler keep my attention a lot better though. For example, Furi became my favourite recent game and it is just bossfights. It's challenging, but not so difficult I give up. I'd love to get good at more complex straight to the point games like Bayonetta and DMC4 but I just lack the motivation/am too tired and playing casually isn't all that engaging.

It's exactly those sort of challenging, technical things I've got no patience for anymore. I used to love that kind of thing. Maybe I could just about deal with some point and click adventures or something. It's been many years since I've dabbled in that. I seriously feel like I get more out of watching movies and listening to music though. There's so many classics I need to catch up to, so maybe I should just quit fighting against it and give in... Maybe losing interest in games can turn out to be a good thing? If that's what's going on? I don't really know... It would certainly give me more time for other things.
