What Game Are You Playing Right Now?

Im still playing Terraria but now im also playing AC3 for the first time and it's pretty good.

i thought the 18th century setting was gonna bore me but it's actually pretty good and i actually prefer the main character over Ezio.
I was playing Dishonored too and kinda digging it but im having more fun with AC3.

So far it's VERY Minecrafty but the crafting progression is different. I really like the graphics and I'm looking forward to see how things change as I go deeper underground. I think even if I beat it once and never play again it'll be worth the twenty.

It's multiplayer but I haven't messed around with it. If anyone bought it and would like to play send me a PM.

Alright, I have been wanting this game for a long time, and I finally went ahead and got it. It is amazing. It really makes you want to try to survive as long as possible, because unlike a lot of games that I have played, when it gets dark and you are ill prepared, you are instantly in trouble. I do like the survival genre as a whole, and a lot of games do it great, but there's always that 'one way' that you can trick the night time to make it your bitch, this one is not that way at all. Basically, if you're not prepared, you're screwed, and night time comes a lot quicker than you think it would. Really having a lot of fun playing this. Even better, I got Don't Starve Together with my copy of Don't Starve, plus all the DLC's.

I've been meaning to buy it. I played it on a playstation one time, but didn't have the time to really get into it (only ~15 mins).

I think I actually played it on a ps3, can't remember. But I saw it on console before I ever knew it was a steam game.

If it is i'll probably pick it up along with rogue galaxy or Dragon age..

Which Dragon age is better, inquisition or origins?

Resident Evil HD Remaster

This is a remake of a remake, however as the only way to really play the old remake was with a GameCube, I'm okay with this. Gameplay wise not much has changed outside of the addition of a more modern control scheme. The cool thing is that your character will continue to run in the direction you started, even after the fixed camera angle has changed. It might not sound like much but when you're stuck with fixed camera angles, and tight corridors you need all the help you can get. Apparently they also fixed a glitch that allowed you to get infinite grenade rounds, which kind of sucks because I remember playing through the GameCube version with that after I beat the game as Jill and Chris. While the dialogue and delivery is significantly better than the 1996 original version, it's still a little clunky and sometimes delivered awkwardly. I suppose it's a testament to just how much better game writing has gotten over the last decade. Visually the game is also quite a bit of an improvement on the GameCube remake, with much sharper visuals and the removal of a weird blur filter on the gamer (or perhaps that was just the GC's graphical limitations). Regardless, I thought the first remake was quite the looker, but I have to admit that they have really done a good job getting the textures up to snuff for a 1080p screen. All in all it's nice to play an older game that's harder to come by than most, and that's about all there's to say about it.

I'm already about 2 hours into this game and god damn, it's a lot of fun. There's a lot of different things I like about it already, even if they are small things:

For one, unlike a lot of survival games, when you die in Don't Starve, you're done. You have to start all over from scratch when you die, which is pretty much exactly what I was hoping for. Don't get me wrong, i'm a big fan of running all the way to where I was when I died and picking up my stuff (sarcasm), but man, I do love feeling the suspense of trying to get things done as quick as possible in order to survive (not sarcasm). Honestly, it adds to the suspenseful nature that the game has. Survive the night. Go out exploring for supplies, if you're not ready for the night, well you're screwed. I've been caught by surprise a few times when I didn't have the supplies necessary to build a fire, and having to look for those supplies in the dark with a barely lit torch while it's raining it's extremely difficult. Which leads me to my next point.

Night time: I love the whole idea in games of night time being the more difficult time of day, especially in survival games, but Don't Starve really does it well. Like I mentioned before, if you're caught with minimal supplies by night time, get ready to run around with a barely lit torch to look for the supplies you need. Depending on the biome that you're in, you'll either find what you need, or you'll end up having to start all over. I played earlier today and I found myself running around for a few minutes trying to find some rocks to make a fire pit. And once night came around, I found I was one rock short and there were none to be found. At this time, my sanity level had gone a bit crazy, so enemies were starting to attack me and I was seeing things I wouldn't normally see.

Combat wise, this game is fantastic. It's not easy, but if you don't want to fight you don't have to. The meaty creatures reward you with better food, but you can just make a farm if you have the supplies.

Mechanics wise, there's really not a lot to it. Really simple stuff and I'm always a fan of the point and click sort of thing, so this is right up my alley.

All in all, I'm having a lot of fun with this game, and I am happy I finally decided to spend the money on it. I can see why so many people lose hours on this.
