Dusted down some old Xbox 360 bullet hell shooters this weekend. Such satisfying gameplay. Especially DeathSmiles':

Great game. Arguably the best in the series, despite the cops being super annoying.

Played Left 4 Dead tonight for the first time in 2 or 3 years. It's still my favourite co-operative online shooter of all time.

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood

After playing through Dishonored time and time again, I realized that I needed something fresh to play, and I decided to pick up Wolfenstein: The Old Blood for two reasons. 1: The game looks and sounds like a lot of fun, and 2: it's made by Bethesda. I'm only a few hours into the game, but it's really got that feel of a Bethesda game that i've come to love and enjoy time and time again. It's certainly got the mixture of stealth and combat that I also love about Bethesda games and it does it very well. I'm excited to see how the game progresses as I've only really seen parts of this game played on streams and the like. So far, really diggin' it.

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is developed by MachineGames. Bethesda is just the publisher.

Anyways, I loved yesteryears Wolfenstein: The New Order so I will definitely check out Old Blood When you're done with Old Blood, check out New Order if you haven't!

Well yeah, I'm just happy that Bethesda is involved in some way. That's more of what I meant.

I was going to pick up New Order as well, but I didn't want to spend more than I should. I'll definitely be checking it out though.

Huniepop (I'll spare you the the cover)

Really not that big into this kind of stuff, it was 10 dollars, and I like puzzle games and playing things ironically. I don't find myself enjoying the puzzle parts too much to be honest, going through the motions and same strategies. Kind of don't think this was worth 10 dollars, and I feel not right playing a hentai puzzle game, but hey... it's not too cringey... sort of...

Ok, I just finished metro 2033 dying light (redux) and have to say, it's even better than the original game. Here's a short review.

Metro 2033: Dying Light.

Oh boy what an emotional, postapocalyptic ride it's been!
The game is very linear, it's one of the things you need to accept before you start playing it so it won't be an issue later on, but apart from that I can't really find any major things wrong with it. And the atmosphere.. it makes fallout games seem silly, with their popculture apocalypse and all. It's an evil, dark and gritty place where death is always near - whether from radiation, viruses, mutants, bandits, communists, nazis... and there's more.
The game itself is a very well made FPS shooter with good gunplay mechanics and often quite demanding enemies, but the atmosphere is.. well, it's unique. With lots of plot twists and things like flashbacks to the moment the nukes hit Moscow (game takes place 20 or so years after a nuclear war, in the Moscow metro and to some extent, above in the ruins), with friends, traitors, sacrifice, moral choices (the few choices you get to make change the ending) and the constant struggle for survival, it's a magical world, extremely hostile but at the same time fascinating.
The game is from 2013 but recently a "redux" version came out with improved graphics, stability, performance and even on my mid range (gtx 600) graphics card, with most details set to medium or lower, I have to say it's the prettiest pc game I've played up till now.
Finally, the game is 5/10 euro on steam ( I bought it for 5 last weekend, but the -50% off discount might have ended already), took me roughly 10 hours to beat on ranger difficulty (which I strongly recommend as it takes away the hud and really helps with the immersion) and there are still some additional missions to play.. even without the discount it's great value for your money.
