It isn't at all surprising that I'd like cerebral arty ****.

I suspected that the lack of subtlety about a lot of the religious and philosophical themes and imagery wouldn't pass your standards, at least on a first viewing. I mean I'm a huge fan of the show, but when random characters start going on about the nature of man or whatever, even when they're just on a train or something and nothing weird is going on, it can be pretty heavy handed.

Before I got to Evangelion I started watching Death Note on Netflix. I made it through 15 episodes and now I think I'm going to quit because I have never hated a character as much in my life as I hate this blonde idiot who showed up. I hate her enough that I'm losing interest in where this is going. I don't really care what happens, I just want her to shut up.

Pretty much how I feel. Most everything else about it is great but she makes it hard to focus on the expansive nature of it.

But Light is the most deliciously evil character in anime... even if the goth twat is annoying. At least I read the manga and didn't have to hear her speak.
