Was watching the first season of Outlander but am deciding to stop after 8 episodes, because at this point it just seems like trauma porn. The violence is extreme and there is a constant threat of sexual assault towards the main character which I'm not interested in seeing (apparently this theme continues across the subsequent seasons culminating in an apparently traumatic season 5 finale). I read a little about the show and why it's so obsessed with sexual violence and while I understand that this is a thing that happens in the world (and presumably happened a lot more in the 18th century), I am just not interested in subjecting myself to that as my evening entertainment.

Am open to suggestions on less gory/violent historical alternatives. Anyone seen Poldark?

Futurama's amazing but not on the god tier. I'd swap it out with Boondocks.

Nah, Futurama might just be the GOAT. Not only is it a 10/10 comedy but it's 10/10 sci fi.
