Default What is your favorite Kurt Vonnegut book?
My vote goes to Cat's Cradle. This is the best book about the apocalypse I've ever read. Bockononism is quite surely the wisest organized religion I've ever heard of. (Seriously). Vonnegut is the best writer I've ever read at breaking down super complex issues into simple humerus and ironic statements. Gotta love it!

They all kind of blend together now (haven't read since high school), but I remember particularly liking Slapstick. I think in the internet age it holds up even more.

I've only read Slaughterhouse-Five.... I don't particularly enjoy war stories, at all, so I didn't like that book.

I also got bored of Hocus Pocus, but I don't ever hear it being mentioned so it must be for a reason.

I want to get into Vonnegut though, so maybe I'll try Cat's Cradle, since so far it's gotten the most favourites.

Why hello there, Kurt Vonnegut thread.

I really like Cat's Cradle and Breakfast Of Champions. His short stories are all pretty good as well, Bagombo Snuff Box is my favorite collection.
