I'm really excited for it too. I've never seen a bad Christopher Nolan movie so I'm guessing this will be good at the very least.

Since it was announced I expected a modern day masterpiece, and I still expect that. High hopes? Maybe. But I've just had a feeling from day one that it's going to be something special, and I've only heard good things about it. If I'm wrong, and it's just a good film.. then I'll settle for that. But I think it's gonna be a real special piece of work. 5 days now.

One movie that I badly want to see is Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and I know the reception is mixed but since this forum has a good deal of fellow Gilliam fans I'm curious to know what people think of it and how it compares to his other work and weither or not it's a step in the right direction for him when considering how mediocre Brothers Grimm was and Tideland (which I haven't seen but want to out of curiousity) which everyone seems to consider the worst thing he's ever done.

I haven't seen it yet. I want to but I'm a little wary since, as you mention, both Brothers Grimm and Tideland were so crappy. My brother saw it and said it was probably his favorite Gilliam movie, but then he also liked Tideland so I'm not sure how to take that.

I saw it. It's not as bad as Tideland but also not very good. It felt like he had a good initial idea and then decided to wing it as he filmed it and it turned sour...too meandering, too pointless.

I am really excited about this too, especially seeing the 100% on RT and not hearing one bad review of it yet! Plus, Christopher Nolan...

Aw serious! That's still pretty damn good though. It is going to be epic, I can't wait.

Anything above 90% and is great, and it's all subjective anyway. Though film critics do know a good film from a bad film, only 3 days to wait before I can stop basing it on bits and bobs I've read and a score on RT/metacritic. So excited
