I can't talk about the movie cause I still haven't watched it. But I got this cinema history call, and I donno why the teacher's examples are always the ending of the movies. So I just watched that scene.

So yeah, if it's boring, it may be cz the climax is in the ending.
** The thing is, sometimes the last scene is the only thing that gives the movie some sense.

I didn't like the Bourne movies...

Nothing happened in Taxi Driver. Just scene after scene after scene. Maybe I am just stupid and oblivious to it's "greatness". But seriously, what is there to like? Why do you like it?

I remember feeling like clapping after watching this only scene.
Filmmaking / Cinematography / Art Direction wise ... personalized and perfect.

if i want a continuous climax i'll go and see transformers II (or not), that's not the point of taxi driver, it's not there to give you eye candy or a quick fix, it's a story about a character becoming unravelled and finding a higher purpose in his delusions, at least that's what i think. The entertainment is derived from watching how this is portrayed and becoming absorbed in an unfamiliar and uncomfortable existence as (and how) the director presents it...
I am older and have therefore had the opportunity to see more films and develop an appreciation of the art of filmmaking (not trying to sound like a pompous ****, it's not exactly difficult stuff), but i thought all teenagers liked taxi driver... maybe it's a guy thing? come on it's Travis Bickle, it's cool! He's like Popeye the sailor man he can't stands no more

Also the main character just pisses me off. Someone I cannot relate to at all and with no explanation as to why he is like that(that I can remember).

It's about returning from war to find yourself a broken man with no purpose in life. That's why he decided to be "the cleaner" of the corrupted reality he's living in.

I don't know why you need to keep making backhanded insults toward me simply because I don't like this particular flick. And assuming that I am a teenager is even better. It is so easy for people to become arrogant assholes when given the cloak of anonymity.

talk about being defensive. i tried to word my response sensitively (although it's 2am here) and i thought i was addressing no.9 aswell who didn't seem convinced by the film (and is a teenager i believe).... i dont know where you got the backhanded insult thing from. if you were indeed born in '87 and are 22 and still need taxi driver explained to you then there's no getting through anyway. Your prerogative to dislike a great (and, OMG, popular) film, i really dont give a monkeys either way mate

If you can't see how your response was offensive then I don't know what to say. I watched it a few years back so I was a bit hazy on the specifics, I am SO sorry for this. And I don't have a prerogative to dislike anything. Taxi Driver had it's shot with me, and it didn't work out. What else can I say.
