I liked the main gist of it; you shouldn't end a major network tv show with people asking questions as to what exactly happened. I wouldn't expect a lost fan to like it, but infomania rules foo <.<

he didn't mean predictable, he meant coherent and understandable. this thread makes it obvious that the show's conclusion was anything but.

I'd hate to ask you to rent the entire series... but rent the entire series. It's awesome.

He says the show got stupid when they introduced the smoke monster? Uh... that was the first episode. If he wants a show about castaways trying to get off an island, then he should consider getting Castaway or Gilligan's Island. This show had a mythology all it's own. Was it perfect? No. Was it damn good? Hell yes.

For things to be completely coherent and understandable for the majority of society, they need to be somewhat predictable and uncreative so that they mirror what members of the public have seen before and can therefore understand.

Lost was always a show that raised questions, made people talk, created crazy fan groups online and forums where people gather and discuss theories... I think it would've been somewhat disappointing if the conclusion of the show didn't continue that nature of questioning, thinking, and discussing among fans. I think the show was relatively coherent if people actually watched every episode... it left a lot of things open but that doesn't mean that it is incoherent.

I like that even after the finale people are still discussing, theorising, and addressing ideas that were left open.

I don't want everything to be coherent and understandable.
I hate having everything explained to me like i'm an idiot.

So there's a few loose ends & red herrings, so what. Happens in every show.

Think about that scene in The Matrix Reloaded with The Architect. How lame was that? Just sitting us down and explaining a bunch of stuff from some all knowing being? I'll draw my own conclusions thank you.
