Screw Dreamworks. They have some good animated films, like Shrek, Antz and Kung Fu Panda.

But most of their films are pretty generic and forgettable. Pixar on the other hand always gets it right.

I could easily have watched it more than anyone else. Aladdin is burnt into my damn brain.

I'll bring more jelly......just in case.

That's funny, it's not like Aladdin was made decades after he died or anyhting.

It was part of a new era of animated movies, it was a block buster hit along with the Little Mermaid and The Lion King. But Walt Disney made Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella which were extremely well done. He had amazing ideas about how stories should be told.

TumorAttitude 06-06-2009 09:15 AM

Mary Poppins was the only thing I loved in my childhood that I didn't find out was steeped in sexism/satanism so I'd say that.

Flower Child 06-06-2009 09:21 AM

Man, I remember Space Jam, if you didn't have that movie when I was a kid then you were nothing. I loved the movie up until the very end cause I remember thinking as a little kid, when I saw him stretch out this arm to make the basket at the end, I remember thinking "well thats just freakin impossible". But I dont remember thinking how impossible it was to have Michael Jordan in Looney Toon world haha. I guess that was perfectly acceptable.

hehehe funny how warped our perceptions were when we were young, it's so interesting looking back at how we thought, like I was reading my second grade report card and my teacher said I had a great understanding of the carrying the one thing, but the whole time I just put the one up there because thats what I thought ure always supposed to do, didn't realize this until 3 years later hahahaha

Hahaha, I know isn't it great

My brother's girlfriends daughter came over the other day, and shes about four so we broke out the ol Disney movies and she picked The Aristocats to watch. I forgot how awesome and HILARIOUS it was. I laughed so hard when Edgar the butler drove the kittens out into the country on his motorcyle and it kept backfiring. And Thomas O'Malley was one cool cat. I also laughed really hard when I they met up with Scat Cat and the gang that played a bunch of jazz. What a great show, and some seriously good jazz on it. If you ever need to get a movie for a kid, GET ARISTOCATS.

Heres what it looks like

alice in wonderland. hands down.

Astronomer 07-08-2009 02:06 AM

The Lion King. I saw it at the cinemas when I was about 5. I cried when Mufasa died.

pourmeanother 07-08-2009 02:31 AM

I'm going to have to say top 3: The Lion King, Alladin, and The Jungle Book, with an honorable mention to The Rescuers Down Under.

alot of Disney movies were based on old tales that were alot gruesome and brutal than the movies made them out to be.

for instance, in the old Cinderella story, the stepsisters wanted to fit into the glass slipper, so they cut their toes and sliced their feet to do so.

there's an article on the net about that stuff, i'll see if i can find it.

Yeah I read that one before.

But I dunno how that makes the disney movies themselves Satanic.

Wow, no one said Mulan! Mulan is definitely my favourite, absolutely amazing I think!

Lain_Lain 07-09-2009 01:01 PM

Everything is satanic. You are probably an advid worshipper of Mr. S, you just don't know it yet.

The Birth of a Nation too retro for you or something?

Sodacake 07-18-2009 07:47 AM

Beauty and the Beast tied with The Lion King for me.

Nikson 07-24-2009 12:57 AM

I love the Disney Renaissance period: Aladdin, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, where they became much more musically oriented. I guess I would have to pick Aladdin simply because the focus is on a guy instead of a girl for a change, although Jasmine is no blushing wallflower.

desylina 07-31-2009 11:27 AM

Mulan of course

Akira 07-31-2009 11:32 AM

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (one of the most successful movies ever), looks more magical than any of the modern disney, and also The Jungle Book.

Lilith 07-31-2009 11:38 AM

My favorite is by far: The Lion King!!!
Best ever! :thumb::clap:

Terrible Lizard 07-31-2009 12:33 PM

Dumbo

Yeah Snow White is good, but don't you find her complete dingbat personality a little annoying? Maybe its just me

Jungle Book was awesome. That snake was so scary especially when he did that weird thing with his eyes. I had this creepy doctor one time that I swear his eyes did that same thing. I could hardly look at the guy haha.

settlementtt 09-14-2009 02:12 AM

Aladdin was my favourite one, especially the songs in it.

FETCHER. 09-14-2009 10:33 AM

Yeah there was The Lion King 2 which was a lot like Aladdin 2 in which it seriously sucked and was sent straight to VHS and then there was the Lion King 2 1/2 which dealt with Simba's time as a cub being raised by the fat pig and the Meekrat.
