I read the book Angels & Demons... I'm an avid reader of anything thriller, so obviously I enjoyed it... but under the circumstances of being stuck in a tent in the middle of the desert at the time, I'm suspicious of my motivation.
I also read Davinci Code. Saw the movie as well, but obviously, when you read a book, the movie never does it justice. And that doesn't have to be taken in a positive light... regardless of how good the book is or isn't, the movie will be worse. (unless you have a completely incapable imagination and get nothing out of reading books) Can't say that I knew anything about a theatrical film of Angels & Demons... thought it was some kind of high budget documentary of sorts. I'd seen the hypemercials, but didn't think of it as an actual movie. Am I wrong here? |
Yeah, you're wrong. It's another movie. I read DVC and enjoyed it. I thought Digital Fortress and A&D were pretty horrible, though. So I doubt I'll see this movie. I did just watch Donnie Darko though, so maybe I'll keep my streak of watching bad movies going.

Or did you just decide to punish yourself twice? |
Only just discovered. I've been putting it off my whole life because of its fanboy status, then got bored in the tent the other day. It was pretty much exactly what I thought.

I even sat through this movie called "Shatter Dead" which was so bad, it couldn't even be considered an independent film by any standard other than a definition. I actually broke the DVD after watching it. I couldn't even bring myself to giving it away. It had to be destroyed. |
I clicked this thread expecting it to be about some prog metal band.

Maybe I should create one then. |
I liked it myself, then again i haven't read the book and those who have seem not to like it. I'll agree Ewan McGregor is great in it.
Regarding Donnie Darko, i've fallen asleep through it twice :s |
Just got back from the showing of Angels & Demons... i thought it was tolerable. A bit over the top at points, But tolerable.
