Default RIP John Hughes

Quote:
John Hughes, the Chicago-based filmmaker who redefined the teen movie in the '80s with his sympathetic comedies about the joys and heartbreak of high school life, died Thursday of a heart attack in New York. He was 59.

Hughes suffered the heart attack while taking a morning walk while visiting family members in Manhattan, his representatives said.

Breakfast Club
Weird Science
Ferris Beuller's Day Off.

To an 80's kid like myself he was great. Home Alone was crap though.

The first Home Alone was decent for what it was but the sequel was pretty much the same exact movie.

Still, his 80s teen movies and the first and third Vacation movies were classics, RIP.

I'm feeling sad tonight. He had an impressive career as a writer & producer.
A movie critc once said the second golden age of movie in the 80's & 90's, I believe he he was a big part of it - that's the best compliment for him I can think of right now.

Rip John Hughes!!

My favourites were Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles and Pretty in Pink. And Jackhammer, home alone was awesome!

I haven't sit through any of his movies to actually finish them. They just completely bore me and I move on.
