I saw it opening night at midnight and while I was already having a crappy night to begin with I still managed to enjoy the movie. It wasn't my favourite Tarantino movie (that's reserved for Jackie Brown) but I did feel I got my 12 dollars worth. The blond French actress was easily the best character in the movie.

But i did enjoy it. It is a very fun movie if your just in the mood to be entertained.

Hey dude, you know who that is?

It's cinematic genius Eli Roth, the master visionary behind the Hostel series and Cabin Fever.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaah.

I guess awful film directors also make awful actors, no surprise there.

After the Kill Bills and Death Proof, I can't really say I expect anything with real depth and substance, but like Boo Boo I think there are other ways to make good films. Sometimes I just wanna be entertained and Inglorious Basterds looks like it might do that quite well! I'm definetly gonna watch it and even though I don't think it'll be mindblowing, I do believe it'll be worth a trip to the cinema.

Well to be honest I thought Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction had some very fascinating and well written characters which was a big part of their appeal, as they weren't really action films like Tarantino's later work.

Inglorious Bastards seems like it's gonna lack the interesting characters that his earlier films had. Hopefully there will be enough kickass action to make up for it.

I found Uma Thurman's character in Kill Bill to be way too unlikable to really care what happens to her, I found the villians to be not only way more interesting but even more likable than the protagonist, I still thought the first Kill Bill was excellent for it's fight scenes, gory death scenes and the over the top style that Tarantino does best, in fact I consider it to be one of the most brilliant action films ever made. However I felt the second film suffered from spending way too much time on the backstories and trying to get us to care about the main character.

I felt that was a step backwards, why have all the action in the first film and then stuff all the backstory and dialogue into the sequel? I still thought vol 2 was very good though, just a bit of a let down when compared to vol 1.

I know people say it's better because of character development, but who f*cking asked for character development in a retro style kung fu action film? I sure as hell didn't.

Yeah, I agree that those had substance .. my assumption is really more based on his last 3. Well, then there's the trailer as well of course!

Did you, or anyone for that matter, feel like there was too much foreign language in the movie. Or did I just get a bad bootleg?

Well... it has a lot of Germans in it.

And yeah, I DO think it's stupid to have a movie set IN germany where every german speaks perfect english.

Very stupid.

I have a hard time seeing how characters supposed to be french (f.ex) actually speaking french in a movie is a problem. If you get used to reading subtitles, it shouldn't be an issue.
