But seriously, the copy I watched was at least 60% Foreign, and the subs were in Russian, so that didn't help any and neither did your bonkhead smiley post for that matter. Guess I will have to shell out the damn 11 bucks to see english subtitles.

I can make out some french and a very little bit of german and I still was confused at times. I guess I can't follow a plot thats based entirely on body language.

aww, im real put off of this film now cause all this forign language stuff, personally i think subtitles ruin a movie, you concentrate to much on the bottom of the screen & not on the characters etc

We don't dub much in Norway - unless it's a film for kids, it really is a horrible thing to do to a movie - and so all movies that are not norwegian (~99+%) have subtitles. Trust me, it doesn't take long before you learn to read the subtitles without focusing on them. They don't really steal attention from the movie for me.

If I have the choice of seeing, say, a chinese martial arts movie either dubbed to english or in it's original language with subtitles, I always go for the subtitles option. In my opinion, it's always the best alternative!

Always subtitles, 100%. Dubbing is not only detrimental to the movie, it is a slap in the face to the actors. Subtitled movies are not difficult to follow unless you are poor at reading. Also, if you watch a movie dubbed the you are missing out on the language which, depending on where it is from, can be a wonderful thing. I learnt most of my Japanese by watching Japanese programs and movies growing up. If I can watch a subtitled movie at 5 then I'm sure anyone else can as a teenager and upwards.

Not always.

I mean Godzilla or kung fu movies wouldn't be as fun if they weren't poorly dubbed.

i thought it was pretty awesome. i didn't realize that it was 2.5 hours long till after it was over. it entertained throughout. more of a comedy than anything i think. and i concur that the "jew bear" guy was pretty terrible.
