This looks like some Japanese version of The Invisible Man. Am I close or am I completely wrong?
|
something like that.

There appears to be several Japanese movies in that vein, in the 50's, like monster, mystery man movies. Now, I haven't seen any of those, but I used to watch this great TV show 'Shock Corridor' and it often aired snippets of some more or less obscure films, many of them were Japanese. And there was a talk, in one episode, about this kind of movies. I think the guy that directed the second Godzilla movie made a version of The Invisible Man or was inspired by it. But, I can't remember his name. :(

this film is more in the vein of 1960s japanese art cinema than 1950s monster b-movies.
