Lovely, she'll make up for his weird-looking...ness o.0.

I do feel sorry for him though havign to follow David Tennant, evidently anyone who was going to have to take on the job from him should expect there to be a lot of immediate criticism because David Tennant did very well as the Doctor. Or at least I think most people would argue he did. But it's no reaso to pre-judge a man we've barely seen in the role so far.

Dr.Who is a prog that has spanned generations and draws continued public attention for a variety of different reasons, both innocent and not-so-innocent, as suggested above.(EDIT: above P_S, that is.)

Of course, Urban also posted a huge Dr.Who thread, though I haven't tracked it down yet. Anyway, I wonder if many people here watch the program these days?

EDIT: Sorry, P_S, perhaps someone better informed will update us.

The one I remember was Tom Baker in the seventies. The local station showed Dr. Who reruns for a while even though we were in the states and Dr. Who is, of course, British.

It looks like he (or another mod) moved it to the Thread Graveyard, most likely during or shortly following his departure.

^ Well, I think he's generally considered to be one of the very best incarnations of The Doctor. He brought a touch of humour to the role (which is perhaps evidenced in the title of his autobiog: " Who on Earth is Tom Baker?"); he also inspired a brief fashion for long chunky-knit scarves, which I remember girls wearing at the time.

OK, Frownland, thanks. I remembered that he did something a bit sad with it, after so much effort had been invested.

These days I believe it's Peter Capaldi, though they may already have moved onto another incarnation. I believe there's a female one planned at some point. Have missed the last season (have it, but have yet to find time to watch it).

Would anyone be interested in collaboratively continuing his journal? Would he mind? Can anyone check? If a few of us did even the odd episode, and it could be moved from the Crypt, then maybe we could jump-start it back to life. If there's not enough interest, or people would rather not move out of their chairs/beds/straitjackets, fine. Just an idea.

I think that might be the exact reason why he (at least I think it was him) moved it there: to preserve it in his absence. Just start a new one.

Nah, it was to make sure all his work didn't go to waste that I made the suggestion. I already started a Dr Who section in The Couch Potato, but only working from the Eccleston era onwards. Forget it then.
