Indeed. While HP has inspired reading, Twilight has inspired getting dressed up to go to a movie theater and screaming. 9/10 of HP movie watchers have read the books, but sadly not even close to that when it comes to Twilight.

I think to many stereotypes go around. Including the one posted I clearly do not only have the mental capacity of a "teenage girl" even though I am one. I think its quite narrow minded to generalise like that.

edit: in the sense that it ONLY appeals to those sort of people. and that everyone LOVES IT. and picks a team. Eh, naw. I watch it because I genuinely like it.

Twilight appealed to me at first, when it was a big craze and I was getting tons of great recommendations for the books, so I thought, alright, I'll have a look. I liked them the first time I read them, but they were pretty over-rated. When the craze died down a little and I didnt have tabloids shoving Rob and Kristen "secret-romance" in my face 24/7, I read the books again and realised just how much I despised the character of Bella. Not only in the book, where shes pathetic and you just want to slap some sense into her, but even in the movie, with Kristen Stewart and her heavy breathing and wooden acting.

I'm very much over the whole thing, so Harry Potters definitely more for me. It may also be that I'm an absolute Harry Potter fanatic, like embarrassingly so. But I'll choose a scrawny kid with a scar over sparkly vampires anyday.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Harry Potter series. It was a great read, especially books 4-7.

I tried reading Twilight, but meh. It reminded me a bit of reading Dan Brown. They are the literary equivalent of junk food IMO. Sometimes it's satisfying because it's so cheesy.

If you want to see a good vampire movie with a love story, see "Let The Right One In."

I refuse to see the Twilight movies so I technically....... can't judge, but I'm pretty sure I would like Harry Potter better (even though I don't like neither of them).

Harry Potter. It's not as queer as Twilight, in all honesty

I've read both books. J.K. Rowling captivates the reader by going into some good detail about the characters. Where Stephenie Meyer is a horrible writter, I've seen better writting from an 5th grader. I'll give her credit though and say she know's how to develop a story, a not very good one I might add.
