Coen Bros.
Yikes no thread on them yet!?! Well I did a search for "Fargo" and it didn't come up with a Coen Bros. specific thread. I figure any thread about the Coen Bros. will have Fargo involved.
So anyways, I haven't seen all of their films (including some of their best), though based on what I have seen, this is how they'd rank, from favorite to least favorite: 1. No Country For Old Men 2. Fargo 3. Barton Fink (truly bizarre movie and by extension awesome!) 4. Blood Simple 5. Raising Arizona 6. Burn After Reading 7. O Brother, Where Art Thou? 8. Intolerable Cruelty 9. The Ladykillers 10. The Man Who Wasn't There I liked all of them though. I'm still waiting to see Miller's Crossing, The Hudsucker Proxy, The Big Lebowski, and A Serious Man. Any suggestions for which one first? Last edited by midnight rain; 04-04-2010 at 12:35 AM. |

I've only dipped my toes in their works (seen about 8 or 9 so far) but you're definitely missing two of their best if you haven't seen The Big Lebowski or Miller's Crossing yet. Everyone will cite The Big Lebowski here, but the truth is its awesomeness still exceeds its cult status. I don't think I've ever met anyone who saw it that didn't love that movie.

I've seen all of their movies except A Serious Man. Aside from Hudsucker Proxy I'm a huge fan of all their older movies, but everything they've done since The Man Who Wasn't There has been kind of lackluster in my opinion.

The Big Lebowski it is.

Did anyone else like Barton Fink as much as I did? The movie seems very underrated. |

Big Lebowski is one of their best movies, so good call!
I didn't like it at all. Quote:

Hah John Goodman is classic in that one. I also love the Hollywood boss: Quote:
