I don't hate it, I didn't think it was bad. I just thought it was nothing out of the ordinary and not particularly well made. The only redeeming thing that kept me watching was Cybill Shepherd who was absolutely beautiful in this, something I've never thought of her before.
WTF, are you joking?

How is it not well made? It's exceptionally well acted, written and directed. the cinematography and the Bernard Herrmann score is fantastic. One of my top 10 movies ever.

Nothing out of the ordinary? There was nothing like it when it came out.

And oddly enough, Cybill Shepherd was my least favorite thing about the movie

I shall throw this one into the mix....

I like Black & White war movies
I like Peter Sellers
I like satire
I like the majority of Kubrick's other stuff

So why do I find this such a bore fest?

I can see how it might be slow, but I consider it a classic just because of the end.

I love the image of all these old powerful men getting excited about a nuclear holocaust because if they had to live in a cave, each man would get several attractive women to help repopulate the Earth. Hilarious and sad all at the same time.

Schindler's List - so overrated and quite dull.
The movie shows the "banality of evil" which isn't always the most entertaining thing to watch.

Obvious pick, but yeah. What's so special about it, what makes it so much better than other "classic" Westerns? The Wild Bunch, The Magnificent Seven, Ride The High Country, even other John Wayne films like True Grit and The Cowboys are all far superior to it in my opinion. Maybe it's the fact that it predated all of those films, but even Bridge On The River Kwai, which came out a year later absolutely blows it away.

Edit: And the portrayal of Native Americans in this film is laughably bad, but everyone knows that.

I don't mind evil, it usually builds up a great tension and can be sinister, that film just doesn't do it for me
