I liked one of his songs and can't remember which it is, so he can be whatever he wants.

As with anything, if you're awesome at what you do you can usually get away with being a jerk. If you're pretty good to good, you usually can't. If you're average to below-average, nobody really cares.

John Mayer isn't that bad... He's clearly doing something right with how successful he is right now...
